Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Blurb

One of the most celebrated and popular historical romances ever written. The Three Musketeers tell the story of the early adventures of the young Gascon gentleman d'Artagnan and his three friends from the regiment of the King's Musketeers: Athos, Porthos, and Aramis.

Under the watchful eye of their patron M. de Treville, the four defend the honour of the regiment against the guards of the Cardinal Richelieu and the honor of the queen against the machinations of the Cardinal himself as the power struggles of 17th-century France are vividly played out in the background.

But their most dangerous encounter is with the Cardinal's spy: Milady, one of literature's most memorable female villains.

Happy reading!

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 2936 comments Read it almost a year ago. An interesting book, very very funny in the beginning, somewhat lags in the middle [according to me], later catches up. It was an enjoyable experience. There are lots of quotes too, which catch you eye and invade your mind.

Em*Greedy* (Iniya) (iniya_n) will start this soon...

Jarvis Ohh... But you are near :D

Yes, abridged :)

Rebecca | 272 comments In the 5th chapter. I like D'Artagnan.

Girish (kaapipaste) | 51 comments I'm reading the unabridged version.. Very detailed descriptions. Chapter 3..

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 2936 comments Gehna wrote: "Ohh... But you are near :D

Don't read abridged now. Go for the whole thingy. It can be appreciated only then. The abridged version just passes over the humor - subtle as well as overt.
After the abridged version I had given it 2 stars, but after reading the whole last year, I upped by another 2 stars. Would have been 5 star, but for the wee bit of dragging chapters in the middle.

Jarvis Smitha, I myself prefer unabridged versions of classics. I had to read Musketeers for school test and time was short so I got the abridged of this one.

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) I think mine is unabridged. My ebook has 67 chapters so I think that am reading unabridged.

Em*Greedy* (Iniya) (iniya_n) Finally I'm starting this one... Have read the shorter version during my school days... excited to see how this would be.!!

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) am in sixth chapter. :D

Rebecca | 272 comments Ive restarted. Mine is unabridged. Loving it.

Rebecca | 272 comments At chapter 12. Duke of Buckingham has appeared. Am loving it but going at a real slow pace.

Rebecca | 272 comments Is no one reading this. ?

Anirudh Seeing that I will need to wait an eternity for you to start, I shall begin :P

What do you think about d'artagnan and his character?

Rebecca | 272 comments I am in chapter 26 and am loving d'artagnan. I like his earnestness , honesty , ardour in love and above all his adventorous spirit.

Anirudh I love that he is so arrogant and yet never realises it :D

Rebecca | 272 comments Arrogant. ! Well who isn't at that age? .D

Anirudh Did anyone finish?

Girish (kaapipaste) | 51 comments I am 62% done with it (kindle). After a very brisk start, it slowed down and only now started to pick up pace. Kind of very different from sensibilities of our times..

Girish (kaapipaste) | 51 comments Thank you for the buddy read guys! finished it :D
Fun read and gets intense as it progresses. anybody else done?

Jarvis I love all the part with Milady. :P
That cunning lady. End was very nice :P

Sorry for the late reply :/

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 2936 comments I loved the satire, especially the first half. Found the middle a bit dragging.

Rebecca | 272 comments Were it not for this buddy read I'd never have read this. It was worthwhile.
