Book Haven discussion

This is a new book set in colonial Hong Kong from the 50s to the 80s, that is, in a period when Chinese culture began to take on a good dollop of Western nuance. It is a story told through two female characters' contrasting life journeys against a backdrop of greed-driven values and patriarchal tendencies being rebelled against.
