Taylor (seffietay) I want to kick things off for the April nominations by adding Kari Aguila's dystopian feminist novel Women's Work to the fiction list. I just read it and thought it would be a great book to discuss with the group!

Women's Work by Kari Aguila

Please feel free to nominate fiction and non-fiction selections you would be interested in reading for April in the comments below.

The Handmaid's Tale
A Thousand Splendid Suns

I'd also really like to read Orlando as well :)

Alexa (AlexaNC) Some books off of my TBR list that might work for this group (but I haven't read them, so I'm not sure).
The Holder of the World
Beyond Black
No One is Here Except All of Us
Dangerous Women
How Should a Person Be?
Letters to Alice on First Reading Jane Austen
Backlash: The Undeclared War Against American Women
(Or am I only allowed one nomination in each category? If so, sorry!)

message 7: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (seffietay) Nominate as many as you like! There are some great titles in your list :)

message 8: by Pink (new)

Pink Alexa, that looks a great list, all books I haven't heard of before!

message 9: by Alice (new)

Alice Furse Could I nominate A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf please? (If it hasn't been done already)

Just added it to my "Want to Read" list tonight, as I've been to get to it FOREVER!!

message 11: by Alice (new)

Alice Furse This looks great - going straight on the to-read pile anyway!

message 12: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (seffietay) Anyone have any last minute noms? I'm going to put the poll together for the 15th.

message 14: by Alexa (new)

Alexa (AlexaNC) Alice's nomination of A Room of One's Own got left off the list.

message 15: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (seffietay) Oooops! I've added it on. Thanks Alexa!

message 16: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (seffietay) The polls are up!! Get votin'!

message 17: by Alison (new)

Alison | 8 comments Which books won? And is it possible to get links to the polls included in the thread asking for votes? I'm on a mobile device and polls don't show up at the top like they do on a web page.

message 18: by Taylor (new)

Taylor (seffietay) Women's work and a room of ones own! I'll post links in the thread next time. Are you using the goodreads app? It is terrible! So many limitations.
