She felt herself starting to lose control again, a feeling of panic rising in her stomach. Her teeth clenched together as she tried to stop the power building up in her body. This wasn't supposed to happen, not here, not when she had just thought she might actually get a break. What was she thinking? When had life ever given her a break? A hysteric laugh bubbled out of her lips before she quickly snapped her mouth shut once more. If she could just keep her powers at bay for long enough that she could find a secluded area, maybe everything would be alright. She started walking purposefully out of the semi-crowded resturaunt, keeping her breaths measured and even. She was almost out the door when a waitress stopped her and asked where the hell she thought she was going without paying. No, she thought, No, just let me through. Don't you know what's about to happen? But how would the lady know that she was about to blast this place apart? Exactly, she wouldn't. "Please just ley me through, I will pay you, I promise, I just have to get out right now," she said in a voice brimming with urgency. The waitress nodded and stepped aside so she could walk through. Maybe she knew something was going on by the crazed look in Amandas eyes or maybe she was just feeling extra generous, but she didn't waste time contemplating why the lady would let her go, her focus was on holding in the energy bubbling in her veins and getting away from all of these people. I'm going to make it, she thought as her hand reached up to grip the cold metal of the doorknob. I'm going to- the door she had just came in contact with blew apart as an earthquake of power rippled out from under her feet, destroying everything in it's path. The roof was just starting to rain down from the ceiling like hail when Amandas knees buckled out from underneath her and the world turned black and soundless.

The sun reflecting off of the water was bright enough to blind. Birds cawed loudly and obnoxiously all around me. It was so hot I was scared I was going to melt right into the warm sand I was standing on. Everything was too extreme, my body felt ready to explode.
I lifted my hand to my eyes in an attempt to block out the sunlight and make out my surroundings. What I saw was a beach empty of anyone except for a woman a few feet ahead of me, knee deep in water. Her brown hair fanned out behind her and I caught a wiff of her vanilla perfume. She turned around when I caught sight of her and when our eyes met the strangest feeling of deja vu came over me. She looked like me, only her eyes were a pleasant jade green while mine were a bright aqua.
She gave me a knowing smirk before she turned back out towards the sea. She continued walking, until her feet couldn't touch the bottom and she began to swim. As she swam further and further away from the beach (and from me) a burning sense of dread knawed away at my stomach.
The sun hid behind a large angry looking cloud. The birds went quiet. A chill rolled up my spine as all went still like the calm before the storm. I watched as a large wave rolled towards the woman in the water, about to come crashing down. A sudden realization hit me like a bag of bricks and I yelled out
"Mom, come back"

Whoa, that's the best one yet! (In my opinion, because the ending was incredible for unexplainable reasons. xD) The one about Amanda was interesting too, and the one about the girl is indeed honest. I like your writing a lot, so I'll be waiting for your new "project" (at the edge of my seat)! :)
