I'm loving the feedback on characters. Readers do seem to want to know more about The Mad Russian, his history and his powers.

I'm glad you enjoyed the novel.

I'm happy with the five week turnaround, so you've got at least until half way through April.

"I was pleasantly surprised by this novel. It's not quite like most of the superhero books that I have read - although there are major events that take place in the book, it had a very narrow focus on the main characters - almost personal, if you will. It isn't an epic, it isn't Epic, it doesn't try to be, and it shouldn't.
The world isn't fully explained - and that's great. No long and painful origin stories. We don't know where superheroes and villains come from, although there are hints that they were around for a long time. The main superhero team makes a cameo appearance in the beginning of the book, but are thankfully inconspicuous by their absence. It's really just about the main character, his villainous grandfather (more of a father figure) who tries to make his grandson into himself, and the girl who gives him a reason to overcome his traumas in the past and the traumas that he faces in the book.
It's not perfect. I didn't think that the main character and the girl had a tremendous amount of chemistry, but there were enough sparks to make it believable.
On the other hand, the main character is believable, his personality fits, and his reactions - or lack of reactions - to what he goes through are reasonable. I would have rather he be a bit more decisive, but as much of the book is about his journey to become more of a doer and less of a happen-toer, it works."

Looks like you're new to Goodreads. Hope you enjoy the book - looking forward to the review! :)
Cheers

Synopsis~
THE MIRANDA CONTRACT
Supervillain. Pop Star.
Sometimes the life we're given isn't the life we'd choose for ourselves.
For the past five years, Dan Galkin has been lying to everyone about just how ordinary he is. But Dan's the grandson of The Mad Russian: one of the world's most powerful, and insane, supervillains. And Dan has powers too. He's a living battery, able to absorb and discharge electricity with his mind. Normally he keeps his powers hidden, but when the old man returns with an offer to make his grandson heir apparent, any chance at an ordinary life is blown apart.
Miranda Brody thought she wanted to be a pop star, but now she's got the international profile and the entourage, she doesn't recognize the Miranda she has become. After getting caught up in the cross-fire between Dan and his grandfather, Miranda realizes there's more to life than being famous. Staying alive, for example, becomes a high priority. And not falling in love with the pizza boy comes a close second.
Labeled by society, trapped by expectation.
Dan and Miranda might actually be able to change everything.
As long as they don't kill each other first.
