Michael Benavidez | 1605 comments I would love to get some honest feedback of When Angels Fail Tales of the Macabre (When Angel's Fail, #1) by Michael Benavidez it's my first book in a series of short stories where characters, locations, myths will intertwine to create a world where my scope is always growing.
I am aware it is in need of editing, kinda jumped the gun on that one Lol
I only have the microsoft document mainly because I don't know how to convert the file, if you are okay with that. Or if you know how to convert it it would be appreciated.
I have no limits, I merely want to know how to grow as a writer.
Honest reviews here as well as amazon is welcome, whichever works best for you.
4 short stories while three are in the manner of horror one is more along the lines of fantasy. Also pretty much contains adult content in the form of violence gore sexual description and language.

Any questions or anything feel free to ask I'm always available.

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) I'll bite :) As long as the file is saved in doc format, I'm fine with that. If you're expecting feedback right away, that won't happen, but maybe in week or so?

M.D. Meyer (mdmeyer) | 156 comments Calibre is a free software program that will take your HTML file and convert it to MOBI and ePub. Very easy to use and includes a reader for reviewing the results. Here is the link:

To get your Word doc to an HTML file, use the "save as" function in Word and select the HTML format option.

When I compared the converted results to the results from Amazon.com's DTP conversion, there was one discrepancy. If you put a carriage return after the end of your paragraphs in Word, that will produce two blank lines in the DTP Kindle file (not one). The solution is to remove any carriage returns between paragraphs in your Word doc (I also kept a copy of the file with the carriage returns as it is easier to edit).

Hope that helps.

Rachael (r4ch4elreads) | 32 comments Calibre is what I use too. It's a great little piece of software. Hope you get along with it ok.

I'd also love to give your stories a go. Word format is fine, or mobi if you've perfected the conversion already :)

Just go online, there's many converters, only takes a minute or two. Convert any file to any file.

Alternatively, you can use OpenOffice. It's freeware, and I what I use. I find it far more useful than Word. I can save as Doc, PDF, just about anything. Sometimes I have to use an online converter to open a file first, but that's it.

Still reading, by the way :)

I use OpenOffice because I didn't want to spend $100 for Word (trying to keep my authoring expenses to a minimum). It works great. I originally wrote my book in MSWorks (which was free with my computer) but when I got to the editing phase, it would not let me track changes from my editor so I had to find something else. Openoffice was perfect.
