Kimberly (mybookkimberh) | 2 comments Hi, new here. First let me say I'm not a author but I do work closely with several authors helping them publish their books. Basically I'm a geek.

Anyways, one of my author friends to ask me help figure out how to get her book list on kindle unlimited and for library ebook programs.

I've been reading this amazon KDP and wondered if we need to sign up there as well as createspace to get the book out to more people.

This is civil war historical story that is very educational. We consider this book our baby so any advice would be very much appreciated it.

Thanks
Kimberly

You can sign up on Amazon to publish you ebook on Kindle for free anytime. You can also sign up for Createspace to get a Trade Paperback version of your book published. Although connected, you have to sign up for them separately and they are separate accounts. Both are free though. You will need to format your book for the Kindle version and for the Paperback version. They are obviously different but not hard to do.

Amazon also has KDP Select that gives you more options and visibility for your Kindle ebook, but to sign up for it your ebook will need to be exclusive to Amazon (no other ebook versions on Apple iBooks, Kobo, or the Barnes & Noble Nook). Some authors choose to be exclusive to Amazon while others prefer the diversity of allowing readers using all sorts of tech to access their books.

To publish on other platforms like iBooks and Kobo, go visit Smashwords dot com. They are also free to sign up and publish
