My wedding anniversary falls during the Fall Challenge. Let’s celebrate by reading books from options based on a bridal good luck rhyme. (I followed its dictates and have been married 22 years, ergo it works!)
This is a two-book task, and each book must be from a different option. REQUIRED: State which options you used when you claim this task.
Option 1: Something Old – The rhyme was published in a collection of English folklore in 1898. For this option, read a book that was first published before 1898.
Option 2: Something New – Read a book with the word “new” in the title. No variations, plurals, or possessives – “new” must stand alone, and must be in the title, NOT the series name or subtitle.
Option 3: Something Borrowed – Read a book you’ve borrowed. (Don’t forget to return it!) REQUIRED: State where or whom you got it from in your post.
Option 4: Something Blue – Read a book with a blue “something” on the cover. The blue thing must be an identifiable inanimate object, not a background design or text, and cannot be water or sky. REQUIRED: Include the cover when posting and point out the blue object.
Option 5: A sixpence in her shoe – Read a book whose author’s initials* can be found in SIXPENCE. Letters may be used as often as they appear. All initials of the author's name as shown on Goodreads must be found in SIXPENCE.
*Only authors that are identified as authors (or a default blank in the author role field), co-authors, or contributors may be used for tasks involving author information. Other roles or functions such as editor, illustrator, artist, translator, introduction, designed by, foreword, preface, assistant or afterword may not be used for author-sourced tasks. Ask about other roles identified in a Goodreads record in the season's General Questions help thread.
