Ink in My Veins discussion

A lot of the times, when I think of stories, I just jump right into the middle and start writing there. Beginnings are really tricky. But sooner or later you'll just be like 'whoa! that would be an awesome start to a story!' and then you can go back and start writing there. That's what I did with Wayward Witch.

I'm 600 words into the next chapter, and they're always about 2000 words. I might finish it tonight. Maybe tomorrow. It'll be relatively soon, I think.

Do you draw all those anime things that you have? Like the pictures of your characters in other groups and stuff? Or do you get them online?

Don't say that. Why are you stuck?

Do dialogue. Start a conversation between a few characters and see where it takes you.

That's not a good thing. Your mood should be separate from your writing. If it affects it, your story won't make any sense, because your mood doesn't usually make sense. Try to have your CHARACTER's mood affect the story instead of your own.

Haha. It usually is, but if you wait for a good mood or inspiration, you'll never get anything done.

At least you have an excuse for procrastinating. I never do.

i give myself a time limit like 5-10 minutes and write randomly crazy stuff (about the story idea i have) and that gives me my structure and a bunch of cool stuff to work with. no stopping and no crossing things out.

pretty much the same thing. I have at least three diffrent ways now on which ending I should choose for DGC.
Like 1. Patrick lives -not going into details
2. patrick dies
3. the end nothing more to it. but i'll probably be sticking with path b. . . so its between the first two

yea i really like plan b. in general i love ur story and either way u write it will probably be perfect!

in my story i have to find a way to add the popular guy named ryan into the story without it being awkward

I write out a scene that usually inspires the plot. This allows me into the main character's brain a little bit, since I write in first person and she's often thinking, I would hope!

Once the scene is written the rest of the plot just comes pouring out, most of the time. I write a short outline first, then I flesh it out a bit so that it's about two pages long. Once that's done, I turn the plot into chapter summaries and then I start writing! ^^

It find it nearly impossible to write a book with no plot. I've tried it before and got absolutely nowhere.

I don't think I've ever writen a book without a plot, or tried for that matter...

I always have a plot come to mind that twists and turns into a story. My characters are born from the plot and grow with it (sometimes they shock me as much as others!). But every story I write starts as a seed of a plot and I jot it down - then when the story moves into my brain - and I can't shake it away - that's when the book begins :-)

I've tried writing a book without a plot, for NaNoWriMo last year. Boy did that turn out bad.
