I know. You're right. And some readers have said she's too critical, which I get. That's why I made Em more likable, less whiny. Honestly, Roya is more like me. I aspire to be Em. Lol.

I don't find it 'horrific'! I love reading & particularly enjoy your books. If I could stay healthy & avoid doctor's appointments for a few days, I think it would really help things, though...

As for being sick all the time, it kind of stinks (figuratively and sometimes literally - yikes! Oversharing, sorry...) but I'm pretty accustomed to it. I've become much more whiny about it lately though.

On that note, I think I'm part Roya & part Em. Mostly Roya. I'd have to be really forced into a leadership role. Plus, I recall thinking she was a bit juvenile but not exactly whiny. And since she was a juvenile, it sort of made sense. She did have a bit of an "I want to have my cake & eat it too!" thing going on in Stunned and part of Revived but I think she always only intended to make Aiden jealous. IDK.

So sorry. I have a friend who has been chronically ill and it's hard to keep her spirits up. But people like you and her are strong and persevere.

Yes, I agree about Roya. She's a stark contrast from Em. Yeah, I just did that. HAD to. Lol! :)

Haha! Sarah, you're hilarious! I used to be really high-spirited...obnoxiously so, according to my mom. In fact, few people could even believe I was sick for the first several years (roughly 10, actually). And I maintained my happy-go-lucky demeanor for another 10 or so but lately, after so long I've become a bit more morose than I used to be. Honestly, I hate it & I wish that I was more like I used to be.

On another, more positive note, I shared your post on Facebook about Rebels so all my bookish friends will know about it. (I also recommended they get Defects first though) ;-) Hope that's helpful. =)

I'm so sorry. That sounds like a long battle. I hope there is an end in sight for you very, very, very soon. No one would ever guess you're sick by your vibrant attitude.

I'm happy to support you! I love all your books ... so much that I am going to make a monopoly that you can buy series instead of places! I also made characters from books instead of the real monopoly characters, like I made a Roya, a Aiden, a Joseph, a George, etc. I'll send you a photo of the board and the characters when I'm finished with it! And I am so reading Rebels next, I want to see what happens to them, what the amazing plot is going to be this time!
