Yup! X in texts.

We'll go with any book on the list, to make it easier to moderate. Almost all are either set in South Africa, about South Africa, or by a South African author. Of course there may be a few things that slip onto a list, but we'll just use the list as is.

Option 2 - African animal on cover

Uncommon Vows by Mary Jo Putney
(I am hoping that may be an eagle, what do you think?)
Option 3 - Title contains the letter X

Six of Hearts by L.H. Cosway

I'm not a birds-of-prey expert, but the book description says it's a falcon perched on her arm, so I'm going to say no on that. But you're good to go on Six of Hearts!

Will this work for a crocodile? I not sure if it's a crocodile or an alligator. The book is in Florida if that helps any.

That works. It looks crocodilian to me and the book description mentions a hungry crocodile as a feature of the story so I am guessing that is the one ;) Enjoy!

I just got back from the trip of a lifetime - two weeks in South Africa! For this task, choose one option related to the highlights of my trip:
Option A - The primary reason I wanted to visit South Africa is the history. I loved visiting Soweto, Robben Island, and more. Read a book from Best South African Reads.
REQUIRED: Specify the page of the list on which your book is found.
Option B - I also loved seeing animals on my trip - the animals I saw included lions, rhinos, buffalo, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, baboons, gnus, squirrels, penguins, ostriches, dassies (African rock dwelling rodents), eagles, crocodiles, whales, and chickens! Read a book with one or more of these animals on the cover.
For baboons, any primate will work. For dassies, any rat will work.
REQUIRED: Include the cover in your post. Specify the animal, and point it out if it is not obvious.
Option C - A surprise bonus highlight of the trip was how many interesting and kind people we met. So many people went out of their way to help us, talk with us, and even teach us some of South Africa's 11 official languages. Read a book whose title/subtitle contains an x (for Xhosa) or a z (for Zulu).
