I've read the first two books in the series, but I'm not sure if I should read that or something different like Heatstroke after I'm done with Sense and Sensibility. I must say, I'm in the mood for romance...but more along the lines of something like Danielle Steel or Nicholas Sparks...so I'm still deciding, haha! Though I must say, I'm very interested in reading what's going to be happening in the third book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

I've got Dark Places on my To Read shelf. I've read Sharp Objects, and I found that a sort of a dark psychological thriller that I really enjoyed. I like Nicholas Sparks for the warm fuzzies that I get inside when I read his novels! : )

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I'm going to read Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson. It's the sequel to the best Fantasy book I've ever read. I highly recommend the first book, The Way of Kings.

wow !! superb !! Then i will inform you when i get the book ! Jenny has the book too !! Unfortunately for me , the book should be in stock at the library from where i take book. I normally borrow books from a nearby library !! Its not often that i buy a book. Once in a year or so, if a book fair happens !!

message 27: by Carmen (new)

Carmen | 139 comments Ok, great! I'm also picky when it comes to choosing books. But the amount of books that I got about a week ago is sure to set me for a month or two! : D I also sometimes borrow from the library, but it's very rare that they get books that are recent, unless they buy from the book store that's at the mall where I stay, or they also get books donated from the public. : )

I guess i am lucky in that way. Our library has almost all the recent books. We have to pay while borrowing each book for a few weeks. The price may vary !! Do you have to pay when you take a book from your library or is it free?!

Well, I must say, if I could lend out a recent book cheaply at the library, I would definitely do so. I'll give you an example: Recent books at the book shop by the mall where I stay go for about 150 rand. I would say that's about the same price you pay for a cd here. And that's why I don't get recent books, because to me, I don't really want to pay that amount of money for a book. Thankfully, a person can get cheap books at the book store, the cheapest being 40 rand. I've even gotten a book for 20 rand. The most I'll pay for a book is 80 rand. Also at the book store, a person can get three books for 100 rand if it's got a certain sticker on. : ) So if I could pay say 30 rand to lend out a recent book at the library, I would definitely do it (even though at the end of the day, you have to give the book back). Is it expensive to lend out a book at your library?

Annette mathews (annettesara) | 1178 comments Mod
In our Library , the price may vary according to the books. For example, Harry potter may cost you 40 Rs. Each of Sophie Kinsella 's book cost you 60 rs .Classics cost you 3 to 5 Rs.I guess an Indian rupee equals 0.20 rand

message 37: by Carmen (new)

Carmen | 139 comments If I convert it to rand it's not bad, if I had to lend a Sophia Kinsella book it seems like it would cost me 12 rand. What do brand new books cost you that side if you have to buy them? : )

My library bought all the three books of Gillian Flynn recently .Sharp Objects and Dark Places cost around 40 Rs each. So it is cheap right ??
