This book is about a young girl who recently lost her father and has to leave her Village/town. She Ends up meeting some magical guy who she trades her shadow too. She ends up joining Indian group to travels with and meets talking cat that is trying to help her find her shadow because she needs it. And believe it is a based in the 1800s . .
