Hello Readers!
I was speaking to Aurelia earlier today and she holds a monthly "Story Time" live via video. I LOVE the idea! Risking a massive copy-cat, I want to extend the invitation to authors and readers. If you want to conduct a video "Story Time" on your podcast, you are welcome to post the video here in the Bookshelf!

I would LOVE to hear an author read their stories!

Hi Angela,
This sounds like fun, but do you mean excerpts from full length novels or short stories?

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 2 comments Sounds good, but most of my content is 18+ romance novels. Do you reckon I'd be OK reading naughty stuff and putting it online? I could try to choose some cleaner bits.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) How does it work? Or shall I rush around and find a teenager?

Hello, Loretta!
Anything you would like! Poetry, non-fiction. You name it! :) I recommend excerpts or a full chapter read!

Go ahead, but please specify "18+ audiences only." I am wanting to open a "Child's room" for the Book shelf and include readings of children's stories to encourage literacy in our younger readers.

lol...

You must have access to a webcam. Steps to do this.

To do this you will need:

A) A webcam
B) A YouTube Account
C) A "Channel" created on YouTube
D) A book

Watch this video if you need to know how to create an account and channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7il-...

Walk through...

1 - Plug in your Webcam.
2 - Go to YouTube... Here is the link :) https://www.youtube.com/
3 - Sign in to your YouTube account.
4 - Go to "My Channel" located on the left hand column.
5 - Select "Upload" on your "Channel" at the top right hand corner.
6 - Look to the right hand column. You have the options to "import," "live streaming," or "create." Select "Webcam Capture" under "Create"
7 - Grab a book.
8 - Read :)

After that, I can work with you on uploading it to the Book Shelf :)

I strongly recommend reading
Naked News for Indie Authors How to Get on TV
There is a whole section on "What to wear" and presentation that I found very useful.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) Ooh thank you. I'm a bit nervous (to say the least) but I must have a go and I'll try not to put it at the bottom of my to do list just cos I'm quaking at accidentally blowing up my laptop.
