I understand this RP is being revamped. Does that mean I can make a flight attendant character or nah?

Do people from both islands, know there is another island?

Hey.... I know this is an odd question but can I make kinda like a criminal. Not like a full on going to murder everyone I wont make him that crazy. But like how some places have trials and if the person is proven guilty then they are shipped off to another prison somewhere else via plane. And sometimes they do on go public airplanes they are just escorted by officers. But if his officers died in the crash it might be kinda fun and cause a lil drama if there's a criminal boy running around. Do you think it would be possible for me to make him?

Also, I found a couple of face claims, but I can't find their actual names. (Tumblr boys, of course. lol) Is there any way I can still use them?

Hey! Sorry only just noticed this, yes you absolutely can! I will lock that in for you :)

People on the main island won't at first because the location where they crashed is on the far west of the island. Those on the secondary island will be able to see the main island almost straight away, so they'll be aware of the island.

Yeah I'm okay with that happening, although we do already have a character called Zander whose situation is very similar.

There's also a fugitive, an illegal business owner and all manner of other baddies making their way to the island so honestly that's cool.

We do have two air marshals travelling on the flight, one of those is my girlie Sam and she will hopefully have a partner, do you want them to be aware that he's a criminal?

Soo I'm a bit new at this sort of roleplay, which means I've got a few questions. First, what is the first thing I should do?
Second, where do I put my character once they're approved? How detailed should the character be?

That's okay! I'm more than happy to explain :)

1) First things first:
- I'd suggest reading The Island and The Rules thread just to get a grasp of how everything works.
- Then you're going to want to pick your claims, so first off is the face claim thread where you can choose an actor/model/singer etc... to portray your character. There is also a Flight Crew thread where you can claim stewards, pilots...that sort of thing if you want to.
- I'd also suggest taking a look through the male and female character threads to see if there's any collabs or relationships you might interested in making for existing characters. Also, if you have any ideas yourself, you can put these in General Requests and Collaborations.

2) So when you've created your character you can put them in either the male or female threads. They'll then be approved by a moderator and you are free to start roleplaying. In order to this, you'll need to find a partner. So you can put a request in the Crashsite Request thread and you will then either be assigned a parter or someone else can choose to join you. This is only for the purposes of rping the initial moments after the crash and you can then move off to different locations and rp with other characters. Any RP request post crash can be made in the Roleplay Request thread.

3) As little or as much detail as you would like, we have included a list of elements in the male and female threads which are as follows:

Fullname
Age
Appearance (please include an image)
Nationality
Island (main or second)
Personality
History
Occupation
Reason for Flying
Existing Relationships (any other characters on the island?)
Important Belongings

We ask that you roughly stick to this, but we'd rather see you play out all the details in the roleplay instead of in the character sheets, so just write what you're comfortable with. As long as you've got a little bit for each of these that should be fine :)

Nope not at all, just a list if fine. I can provide you with a basic one which will give you everything you need if you want? You'll just need to copy it across and fill in the blanks?

Oh sorry, that was weird phrasing. As in just list off those specific elements and include a little paragraph for personality, history and reason for flying.

Yeah me and Max kinda realized we had the same idea and was like oh well look at us go great minds think alike. So we were going to have them team up and cause a little chaos. I'm going to switch him to a her, Ryo now cause that means I have equal balance of male and female. And yeah, they would most defiantly know of her. She may or may not have accidentally murder someone in an armed robbery cause they got in her way. So yeah the marshals would most definitely know.

Okay so I've got my approved character!! What do I do next to get my character onto the island? And I don't know if I already asked this, but how many paragraphs would you like me to write?

Right, so now you need to find a partner to start off your rp with! You can post in rp request stating what kind of thing you're looking for?

Although I've got a couple of characters open, maybe Jackson could be a good option, he could maybe be a father figure to her and help get her off the plane?

And paragraph-wise, as much or as little as you like. I tend to try and match whoever I'm writing with, but I wouldn't worry too much about that, so long as you're giving your partner something to work with you'll be fine

So. I had an idea that my flight attendant character would have landed in the water and washed up on the second island like a day after the crash? Does that sound like something that would be possible?

I haven't come up with as much of an anticipated plot for the chef characters as I have for the flight attended who'll be bent on finding the little boy she was looking after on the plane. I still need to make the little boy character.

I was going to see if anyone else has a character they'd like to play who'd take responsibility for the little boy, and maybe the chefs and that person could be the 3 people who mostly look after the kid.

And that's what I got so far. lol

That is cute, but I was gonna have my little kid be completely shell shocked. I was just gonna have him pretty much just sit quietly or cry most of the time, because he reverted due to the shock. XD I know that's a bummer, but yeah. He's not going to be very fun and cute, just quiet and disturbed.

Hehehe for Drama there are no lines I wont cross! Leg infection, blood poisoning, that's what i'm thinking. That is if I get permission from the mum, father and older brother to flat out murder the child.

what is the claim? I’ll just have to check, I imagine it will be fine but a couple of members have expressed an interest in coming back and will be rejoining at the end of the month/ when they return from holiday

I’m going by the general rule that if the character hasn’t at least been included in a brainstorm then it’s probably a safe bet

What does rule 3 mean? No mary sues or gary stues? I don't know what that is.

It means no characters that are just perfect and can do everything better than anyone else.

You're welcome and I do too. I think that even if a character knows all this stuff most likely they aren't overly active in a few of them all the time. Or they have practiced but not actually had to rely on them.

Exactly, so it would be totally unrealistic to know from the start. There are supposed to be challenges.
