Welcome To Making Connections - Introduce Yourself

My name is Alison Brodie and I write romance. My debut as an indie author - Wild Life - is out this Monday! I'm biting my nails!
ChickLitPlus have today published their review for Wild Life and they say: "This is a great read."
With 4.5 stars.
I live in Biarritz (I have just noticed that Laurette Long has published a romance set in Biarritz - can't wait to read it. And it's free!)
I love writing, reading, being around dogs (short, fat, ugly and smelly, it doesn't matter)swimming and connecting to all romance readers and writers on the web.
I support indie authors!!!!
Go girls, go!

I enjoy nude studio photography and CGI art. I prefer reading military SF (but not the "character based" stuff that is popular these days) and Historical Warfare, as well as non-romantic erotica such as the books produced by Ophelia Press and Nexus.
I write both Adventure SM erotica, and Science Fiction.

My newest release, a time-travel suspense, was just published by The Wild Rose Press. I love time travel, great stories with a twist endings, suspense and romance, and I write primarily in those genres. Please stop by and introduce yourselves to me on my author page and help me in this group to draw out of my introvert nature. :-)

Seems we have some sci-fi/fantasy fans here. I'm a sci-fi fan, too. Movies and books. I've published a couple--for other authors, not myself. One is an epic fantasy just published this summer and the other a technothriller on virtual reality; sort of falls into time travel?
Casi, I think many authors are a bit shy, especially about promoting themselves. Read this post I wrote about author marketing. I think it will give you a different perspective. In short, when you share your story, you are giving a gift to readers. I based the article on a book I read earlier this year that touched me deeply. I later spoke with the author. Guess what? She was terrified to publish her book. I'm so glad she did. Here's the link to the article. Hope it inspires you to put yourself out there: http://pub.ink/how-to-publish-to-insp...

If so contact r.h.finnegan@open.ac.uk, as I may not see a reply here

I enjoy reading all kinds of books but my favorites are usually thrillers, romance and fantasy. I have a huge Netgalley addiction and am always picking up more to read.

Like to read ( maybe review) my fantasy epic romance, Black Inked Pearl? Could send PDF

Enjoy!

I also write a bit - mainly contemporary romance but I really want to do fantasy and stuff, I'm just finding it difficult to break into it. I have a Wattpad account, xXLiveEvilXx with a fanfiction up right now but if you'd like the original story I've been working on up, I'd happily do that as well!
:)

Good eatng then

Been on Goodreads since early 2014 but new to this group. I've so far written two sci-fi books. My first is doing okay but my newest seems dead in the water.
Love writing though and I'm currently trying out a different genre and a new pov in a light hearted thriller/crime story.
Not really a romance reader but will try almost anything else.

I have my favourite genres, and my favourite authors, but will often pick a book just because it sounds like something completely different from my normal reading habits.
I prefer books that are fast paced and a bugbear of mine is when the book seems to be padded out - Great Beginning, Great Ending but the in-between leaves a lot to be desired!
Anyway enough about me Hi everyone :)
