Emily | 23 comments Welcome! We are so glad you could join us! Feel free to introduce yourself - What's your name? Your favorite book or series? Anything else you would like to share?

My name is Emily. I love reading, writing, and just about everything to do with words. I especially love Christian speculative fiction and historical romance, such as the Out of Time Series, the Tales of Goldstone Wood, and the Price of Privilege Series.

I and two other young ladies are starting this group on behalf of Nadine Brandes. The idea was to create a group where we can chat about the series and have read-throughs of the series.

J.L. Mbewe (jennettembewe) | 2 comments Thanks for the invite Emily! My name is Jennette Mbewe. I write fantasy as J.L. Mbewe. I loved A Time to Die and I'm anxious to see what will happen next! My favorite series include Tales of Goldstone Wood, Artemis Fowl, Atherton, and Harry Potter.

I look forward to chatting with you all!

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Shalom, Jennette, Emily! The Tales of Goldstone Wood is one of my favorites, as well! That, and the Out of Time series are my favorite books... ever. And then the Reckoners, by Brandon Sanderson.
I'm Faith Song, and I write fantasy, too, though I'm currently working on a Sci-fi space story... First try at that genre.
A Time to Die was so very epic... I reviewed it on here.
I cried when I read it, and I understand from someone who got an advanced copy that there are more tears to come.
I'm currently rereading A Time to Die... Even though it's only been about two months since I read it the first time. :-P I'm seeing things in it that I didn't see when I first read through it...

Anyways, tally ho, mellons!

Megan McCullough (meganmccullougbooks) | 6 comments Hi! I'm Alea Harper. I write science fiction, dystopian, fantasy, and any other weird genre out there. The Out of Time trilogy is one of my favorites, along with the Ilyon Chronicles and Tales of Goldstone Wood!

I look forward to fangirling with you all!

Tally ho!

Mickayla Jansen | 1 comments Hello! I am Mickayla Jansen and I absolutely loved A Time To Die! I cannot wait for the release of the sequel :). Out of time is probably my favorite book series even though I haven't read the whole series.

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Hey, Alea, Mickayla! Good to have you here. :-)
I know! I can't wait to read A Time to Speak... There are so many things I want to know!

message 7: by Allison (new)

Allison Ruvidich Hello, everyone! My name is Allison. I *confession* haven't read a Time to Die Yet, even though I own a lovely copy, so I jumped at the chance to read it with a fun group of fans.

message 8: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Galu, Allison! Oooh, you should definitely participate in the read-through, then! A Time to Die is so... so... soooo very lovely. XD You'll love it.

Nadine Brandes (nadinebrandes) | 22 comments Hello everyone!
I'm Nadine. And my favorite book series are Harry Potter, the Blood of Kings Trily (by Jill Williamson) and the Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers.

Confession...The Out of Time Series keeps putting me to sleep. I think I must have read it too many times. ;-)

Okay, okay, sillyness aside...

THANK YOU ALEA, EMILY, AND FAITH SONG for putting together this group! I'm SO excited to answer questions about A Time to Die and hopefully A Time to Speak in a few weeks. :) It is such a blessing to see how much you all like my books! :) *many tears and hugs*

Allison -- I can't wait for you to read it! :D And this way, you don't have to wait too long for the sequel!

Thank you for reading, my dearest friends. :)

message 14: by Kiah (new)

Kiah | 14 comments Hello, y'all! My name is Kiah, and I'm a homeschool graduate with a love for Christian fiction of all kinds. It's always hard for me to pick favorites from all the books I've read and enjoyed, but I think they would have to include the Ilyon Chronicles, a Time to Die, the Crown and Covenant Series by Douglas Bond, the Blood of Kings Trilogy, and Illusion by Frank Peretti.

I am hoping to participate in the read-through for a A Time to Die (it'll be my third or fourth reading of that book), and I am beyond excited to read A Time to Speak. Sometimes I wish I hadn't heard about the Out of Time Series until AFTER the whole series was published. The waiting is interminable and torturous. :)

message 15: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Hey, Kiah! I'm homeschooled, too. xD
*nods* I've read the Ilyon Chronicles, the Out of Time series (of course), and the first Blood of Kings book.

xD I've read it twice, both within the past two or three months. It's epic, isn't it?
It is! I've only had to wait a few months for A Time to Speak, but I'll have to wait the whole writing, editing, and publishing time for the next book. *sigh* I will have to learn patience, I guess. :-P

message 16: by Kiah (new)

Kiah | 14 comments Well hello, fellow homeschooler! :)

Yes, it is very, very worth reading multiple times. :) I read A Time to Die the very day it released, which is just over a year ago now. It has been a very long wait for book 2, but time always goes by faster than you expect it to, and I am very thankful for Nadine and the passion and purpose that goes into her books. I certainly cannot begrudge her the time it takes to create those stories!

message 17: by Nadine (new)

Nadine Brandes (nadinebrandes) | 22 comments Y'all are making me weepy... :)

Welcome all new members! Allison and Rebecca, I'm so excited for you to step into Parvin's world! :)

Yes, I totally agree. These stories are so powerful, it would be nothing if it took her years and years to write them.

message 19: by Kiah (new)

Kiah | 14 comments Alea, I'm curious as to how you pronounce your name. :) Is it a-lee-ya or a-lay-ya?

message 20: by Emily (last edited Oct 02, 2015 02:19PM) (new)

Emily | 2 comments Hey guys! I am Lily Emerson and I loved A Time to Die SOOO much!!! I cannot wait for the rest of the series! :) Other series I have enjoyed include the Ilyon Chronicles and Tales of Goldstone Wood. Looking forward to the read-through!

message 21: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Hey, Lily! I know, it's epic, isn't it? xD
I got a prepublication copy of A Time to Speak, and... You will not be disappointed!
*nods* Those are both good series'.
So am I, and I just finished rereading A Time to Die! :-P

(Jen) The Artist Librarian (theartistlibrarian) | 2 comments Belatedly posting. LOL, home-schoolers unite! =P

Hello! I'm Jen and I call myself The Artist Librarian. I've been into all things creative since I was a girl and am studying to be a Children's or YA/Teen public librarian. I've been blogging about books, arts/crafts, and my fave fandoms for just over a year at The Artist Librarian: http://theartistlibrarian.blogspot.com

I have too many favorite books/authors: this year I've enjoyed books by Jill Williamson, Rachelle Dekker, Dina Sleiman, Elizabeth Camden, J.L. Mbewe, Jody Hedlund ... and of course Nadine Brandes.

Feel free to read more about me on my blog or add me here. =)

message 23: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Shalom, Jen! Welcome to the Out of Time Goodreads group! :-)
I've read some Jill Williamson, but they weren't my favorite books.

*pumps fist* Homeschoolers unite! Bookworms unite! Ha! xP

message 24: by J.L. (new)

J.L. Mbewe (jennettembewe) | 2 comments Hi y'all! Wow, certainly a lot of homeschoolers. I was homeschooled the last 2 & 3/4 years of high school. :-)

And Jen, your post warmed me heart. Thank you! :-)

message 25: by Emily (new)

Emily | 23 comments Welcome everyone! It is good to have you!

So many awesome books! I have read and enjoyed most of the ones you mentioned. And, yes, I've read your books too, Jenette. I appreciate having you join us.

As for homeschooling, perhaps it is common in this group. I was homeschooled through most of elementary school and the Christian school I attended after that was only one-half step up from it, as there were usually only 1-4 people per grade and the classes were video-recordings of teachers. Weird, right?

message 26: by Hope (new)

Hope | 2 comments Hello everyone!

I'm Hope and I'm also homeschooled. XD {This seems to be a trend.} I have a confession: I haven't read A Time to Die yet. *sniffles* I really want to, but I haven't gotten around to buying it. *nervous chuckle* But I'm really excited to read it when . . . I get to . . . read it. *furrows brow*

Anyway, a few of my favorite books are the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Illyon Chronicles, and Dare by Tricia Mingerink.

message 27: by Ana (new)

Ana | 3 comments Hi, everyone!

I'm Ana, and I'm uh...not homeschooled. Sometimes I wish I was homeschooled, but for the most part public school's pretty awesome. Anyways, I love reading, writing, running, sewing, and coding. Oh, and blogging. I blog at http://butterfliesoftheimagination.wo..., although I'm currently on a bit of a hiatus.

I loved reading A Time to Die. The premise of the book is so unique and I loved how well Nadine wove so many important Christian themes throughout the story. As for other books I love, well, my favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and I was just as impressed with Go Set a Watchman. Other authors I love are Charles Dickens, Anne Elisbeth Stengl, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, J.R.R. Tolkien, Ray Bradbury, and Elizabeth Wein.

message 32: by H.M.R. (new)

H.M.R. (mybookcaseandi) | 32 comments Thanks!
And I actually won Nanowrimo this year! It was awesome! Though my goal was lower. I set it at 30,000 words. Congratulations on reaching your goal!

message 33: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Awesome! My first NaNo, I did 5,000 words. xP I was eleven. This is my first time doing 50,000 words. xP I tried 30,000 once, and I failed... xP

message 34: by H.M.R. (last edited Dec 14, 2015 01:58PM) (new)

H.M.R. (mybookcaseandi) | 32 comments Aw, well I guess you just needed a bigger challenge. ;) You did it when you where 11! That's totally awesome! Really, I don't think I could have done it without my sister and the accountability group me and some others on Instagram have. We did a ton of word wars and the like. We all won. :D

message 35: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Yup. xP

message 36: by C.B. (new)

C.B. Cook (cbcook) | 10 comments I'm C.B., hullo! I'm a huge fan of the Out of Time series, the Ilyon Chronicles, the Lord of the Rings... so many books, it's hard to keep track! Anywho, I'm thrilled to join this group, and I'm DYING to read A Time To Speak and A Time To Rise. :D

message 40: by C.B. (new)

C.B. Cook (cbcook) | 10 comments Not yet. *sigh* I want to get it as a paperback, since I have the first one in paperback, but that means I have to find it in stores...

message 41: by H.M.R. (new)

H.M.R. (mybookcaseandi) | 32 comments or on Amazon. I'm in love with Amazon. I barely go into town and when I do I spend it on Starbucks. *sighs*

message 42: by C.B. (new)

C.B. Cook (cbcook) | 10 comments I don't usually order paperback through Amazon, but maybe I will. We'll see. ;) Maybe someone in my area will sell their copy to Half-Price Books... :P

I actually live in a fairly large city (million+ people), but I don't get to go book shopping very often. I'm the only diehard bookworm in my family. :P

message 43: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 18 comments Hi everyone!! I'm Alyssa!

And I love to read (obviously), write, watch action movies, and knit my gigantic TARDIS blanket.

My favorite books.... Why?! Um, basically any book by Bryan Davis, the Ilyon Chronicles, The Blades of Acktar, Percy Jackson... and a bunch more. ;)

And, admission time: I haven't read the Out of Time series. BUT they are sitting on my shelf all pretty and stuff. And after I finish my current book, Magnus Chase from the library, and Amazing Honesty, I CAN READ THEM!! Gosh, I'm super excited!! XD

message 46: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Welcome to the Out of Time fan group, C.B. and Alyssa! xD

Ooh, C.B., you'll love A Time to Speak. o.o It was amazing, and the ending... *covers mouth to avoid giving spoilers*

I won A Time to Die in a giveaway... And I probably never would have gotten it if I hadn't, because I never buy books from authors I don't already enjoy. xP Then I finished it... And bought A Time to Speak from Amazon. (Which, actually, is a big thing, because, to tell the truth, before that, I had never actually bought a novel... Huh.)

Alyssa, you will love Out of Time! I've read A Time to Die about four times, and A Time to Speak two or three times. I like them more and more every time I read them, which makes me a pretty big fan right now. ^-^

They do look so very pretty... I am very much looking forward to seeing the cover of the third book.

message 47: by H.M.R. (new)

H.M.R. (mybookcaseandi) | 32 comments Bonjour Alyssa! Welcome to the fandom! :)

Wow Faith. You haven't EVER bought a novel before?!?!?!?!?? Like on Amazon or like, ever?

message 48: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments Like, ever. xP I've had novels bought for me, but I'd never actually bought my own novel. xP

message 49: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 18 comments I love buying books maybe a little too much. ;) All my money goes to books. And MARVEL movies...

message 50: by Carrie-Anne (new)

Carrie-Anne Thomas (faithsongandfire) | 79 comments I like books a lot, but I guess I'm a bit too cautious with my money. xP
