I'm glad she did a little bit of recapping at the beginning of the book because I forgot some of what happened in the last book.

I needed the recap too. I read the last chapter of the eternity cure to refresh my memory though. I couldn't quite remember properly.

Not impressed with that twist. that feels like a right cop-out. (hide spoiler)]

I'm only at chapter 2 so far. I haven't had as much time to read as I'd hoped, but it doesn't help that I'm kind of bummed by how Allie is behaving. (view spoiler)[I can't believe she got an innocent girl killed and she didn't even care :( P.S. How creepy was that scene with all if the people hanging upside down from the tree?!? (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, Allie has a hard time (view spoiler)[ with bloodlust in this book, she forgets who she is and what she's really like completely.

Crap. I was hoping she would turn around soon. I don't want to deal with her like this through the whole book :(

She's not like it for the entire book, but she does struggle. She's better after the half-way mark I'd say.

I'm at 28% now and she's been back to normal for a while, thank goodness. (view spoiler)[I didn't think we'd see Zeke so soon though. I thought she would find out that he was alive at the end of this book. I have no idea what's going to happen next, except a trip to Eden. (hide spoiler)]

Lol I should have read a little more before jumping to conclusions, or maybe we already knew and I forgot? (view spoiler)[ Did we already know that Zeke was alive and bad? I can't remember how the last book ended. I thought I remembered that he was alive, but I don't remember anything else. (hide spoiler)]

at the end of the second book (view spoiler)[ Allie and co. listen to a recording of Sarren killing Zeke, and believe him dead. We then find out that Sarren has Zeke in the back of his van, and its left to us to wonder if he's alive or dead, or whether or not he's going to turn.

With regard to Allie and her bloodlust, she's not out of the woods yet! (hide spoiler)]

57% (view spoiler)[ How did you feel about Jackal? I can't decide if I like him or not. One minute he's entertaining, but the next he's an ass. I can't tell if the bad guy thing is how he really is or of it's how he copes with being a vampire. What do you think? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I think it's a coping mechanism. He probably does enjoy killing people, but I think a lot of it is about peer pressure, and trying to stay in control. He doesn't like anyone else deciding his future for him, but he's happy to help when it's his idea. (hide spoiler)]

I think i'm gonna finish this tonight .. I finished Part 2 last night and I liked it even tho it kind of dragged (view spoiler)[and with that i expected a twist to happen.. that is yaaaaaaaaay Ezke is alive but a vampire.. total shocker.. not! I wish she didn't make him alive, him and Allison together = less kickass, more sappyness.. but I like his internal struggle with this vampire thing.. Jackal's speech to him and Allison was hilarious.. Thank you Jackal <<<33333

I like the little developement with Jackal.. Kanin is still expressionless or had that hint of a smirk *sigh* why do I feel like a disappointment is coming? *shudders* (hide spoiler)]

End of chapter 3- (view spoiler)[I'm glad Allison didn't kill the woman for her Hunger and remembered what it was like to be human. Shes clearly grieving for Zeke and losing herself.

It's nice to know Kanin expects more from her. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 Chapter 7-(view spoiler)[wow this book has been nothing but blood and gore since the first chapter, and I'm loving it lol!

Waves of raiders and rabids later Allison arrives at the lab where she first met Jackal. And there she finds Zeke? But now he's a vampire with no memory of her other than he was turned by Sarren... the psychopath! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 9-(view spoiler)[Allison resorting to biting Zeke was somewhat predictable... (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 14 - (view spoiler)[I'm feeling uneasy now that they are in Eden. Where the heck is Sarren?
And its scary how the doctors are all dead... just what is Sarren planning? The confrontation between Zeke and Sarren will be interesting (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 16- getting there.. Slowly but surely haha

(view spoiler)[I agree Sarren haa had time to plan for their arrival. It's scary to think of what he has in store for them after what he did to them before... And Zekes remark made it seem like he had to be sacrificed. Yikes (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Sarren deserves the title psychopath of the year with honor.. i think it's funny whenever they stumble on something and find it was Sarren's plan all along.. like ofc he's gonna be a million steps ahead 'coz he's not acting like a clueless vampire which they all are.. even Kanin! Finished! (view spoiler)[I know! Even his first 'death' was crazy!! I had a feeling it was too easy!

I'm glad Kanin found redemption in sacrificing himself.

I forgot that Eden is only a small part of the world and the rest of the world still needed the cure. It can't be fun for Zeke and Allison for what they have ahead. Forever is so long!!! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Allison was practically lifeless (no pun intended) because Zeke was 'killed' by Sarren. And when they're finally together it did get a bit sappy. Jackal provided much necessary comic relief.

I can't give this 5 stars though because it wasn't as gripping as the 2nd book and even though it was in first person there was always some strange third person sentences - The master vampire, the impaled boy etc. Even though Allison knows them personally.

Kanin was always so formal and a bit of a boring character to be honest. But I guess that's what makes him mysterious (hide spoiler)]

But I also like the ending, makes you wonder about the possibilities ahead of the two.. and how was that new disease twist? I couldn't imagine something more frightening..
