Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Shatter Me will be our first Guided Buddy read for April 2014.

The first time I read this, I actually didn't like it but I want to give it a try again since I hear good reviews with the rest of the books in this series. Can I still join even if I'm just re-reading it?

I still haven't read Shatter Me trilogy, so i guess I'm giving this one a try :D

3% - Umm what!? Terrible introduction. What's with the strikeouts, lack of commas and numbers!? :/

7% - (view spoiler)[This is really weird. I don't "get" it at all. Sw cannot touch people right!? But she let the guy get so close - shoulder she warn him!? And these cross outs are giving me a headache!! (hide spoiler)]

The strikeouts were pretty annoying! I think it's to illustrate Juliette's mental state at the beginning of the book

Rachel what is the deal with the strikeouts? I am still trying to figure that out

I've noticed people talking about those before. A lot of people think they're good because you know what she's really thinking. I'm starting soon!

@Sarah They aren't! Sure you know what she is thinking but you can derive all that from subtext abyway!!

Depends how much I've had to drink ;)
I think we're supposed to feel like she's a bit jumbled and confused though, and that things are running through her head so fast that she doesn't have time for pauses.
