Desdemona Hello there! I'm NEW to the GROUP and very much interested in finding a good book about a serious age-gap romance. I have seen most of the movies related to age gap relationships, but I haven't managed to find a book that would satisfy me, except Lolita of course. I would be more than glad if you could help me with some recommendations and comments about books of that sort that you have read and liked. It would be better if it were popular books and not goodreads-authors ones because they would be very hard for me to find. Thanks in advance!!

Mo Ibrahim (moibrahim) | 8 comments You may enjoy Nabokov's other Lolita's The Enchanter, Transparent Things and Laughter in the Dark. Summaries can be found here:

If you want to move away from Nabokov, I would recommend Anne Rice's Belinda.

Desdemona Thank you very much! I'll stick with Belinda for now.

Desdemona Thank you very much! I am particularly interested in large age gaps, so yes >20-30 years. I searched the books you have in the group and liked many of those, and I thought maybe "Belinda" and "You must remember this" would be very nice for me. I'll search for the ones you recommend definitely. Thanks again! :)

Noël Cades (noelcades) | 2 comments Hello, glad to join this group! I love reading age gap romances, a few recent ones have been:

* The Honey is Bitter by Violet Winspear (~20 years - wonderful vintage Mills & Boon, man is quite "forceful")
* Rivals (Rutshire Chronicles #2) by Jilly Cooper (~20 years - however it's one of many plots in the novel, albeit the main romance one)
* The English Tutor by Sara Seale (~20 years, a bit "chaste" though, more of a coming of age)

A great genre for this, which I also write in, is Student-Teacher romance - someone has already mentioned Innocents by Cathy Coote, but that's a good genre to search to find age gaps.

Happy to email free copies of my books if anyone is interested, two of them have around a 15/16 year gap. Just let me know/pm me your email address.

Noël Cades (noelcades) | 2 comments Sure - if you'd like copies just pm me your email address! The heroines are overage/age of legal consent in their respective jurisdictions in each book however.
