Matt Hart | 148 comments I grew up in West Texas, and you can read about that in an essay on my blog : http://matthart.com/a-modern-clan-rit...

I have a few other stories there, but mostly it's a mash of technical stuff and whatever I might want to blog about.

I have three books on Amazon -- a Kindle Worlds book with two short stories: Tie Your Shoes, and two in my series "Apocalypse Makers": The Fractured Earth and Surviving the Day. They are post-apocalyptic books, with Apocalypse Makers having a unique twist.

I like the genre, but I don't like the language and graphic scenes that seem to characterize those books, so mine are all much cleaner, which shouldn't detract from the story (AM books are all 4 and 5 stars so far).

Working on book 3 now.

ghostwriter - WLC (ghostwriter-wlc) Hi Mary Kate,

I am a writer and a ghostwriter. The project I want to share here is called the TETRA SCROLL. Tetra Scrolls are true handmade Bible Scrolls on parchment-type paper, detailing all the major events from Genesis to Revelation, including important events from secular history. Because it is a vertical format, it allows a visual perspective of the Bible that is not possible any other way. If we were looking at Elisha for example: at one glance, you can see the appx Gregorian date, how many years it is from Adam's creation, who is ruling the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, where to find it in scripture, and that Egypt is still the dominate ruling power. You can also see what is soon to come, and what has recently passed.

Scrolls are stained and aged, and look like something Indiana Jones would have. If you are interested, you can see more about them at TetraScroll.com. They are non-denominational. Nothing on the scroll is interpreted.

This is the project of my heart. Though I love writing... and I do, this one is for the Kingdom, as I know is the case for many of the authors in this genre. There is over 4000 hours of research and time involved in creating this scroll, a journey and a blessing I never anticipated.

If you read this, thank you for your time. Blessings to all of you, and on all of your gifts and talents as we us them for HIS praise and HIS glory. I might add here that our gifts come in many forms. It can be caring for the elderly, caring for children, visiting the sick, musical gifts, teaching, organization, youth ministry, the list is virtually endless. We are one body, and He needs us all. :)

J.C. (jctha) | 19 comments Hi!
My name is J.C. Buchanan and I'm 15 years old. I have published 2 books The Hidden Amethyst and You'll Be Like Faye. I published both through CreateSpace. Writing and reading are my passion and my dream is to use my writing to share the gospel. I'm also homeschooled :)

The Hidden Amethyst is a fantasy about a girl who has to find a magical ring in order to save her friends from evil fairies.
You'll Be Like Faye is a more contemporary story. It is about a girl named Faye who starts discovering strange mysteries in her own home after her family hires a housekeeper.

It's great to meet everyone! :) :)

Danny Deaubé (dannyldeaube) | 191 comments Hello everyone, my name is Danny Deaubé. I will be turning 68 next month (yes, that's right 68 years old). I live in Monroe, Oregon and a native of Southern California. I am a retired bricklayer, and as you can see, I am not your average author.

I published my first and last book late in 2013. It is a memoir in memory of two of our children,Stephen and Holly, who were born with a fatal liver disease. It was a labor of love and an honor and privilege, as their father, to share a most remarkable story.

I am not famous, nor will I ever be. I am just an average father with no writing background experience. I began writing as a grieving father, and a year later I finished as an author. A Cinderella story it is not! A warm fuzzy feeling and everyone lives happily-ever-after, hardly.

Life isn't always fair is it? Did anyone ever tell you it would be? If they did, they were terribly wrong! This book is not a fairy tale, it's life, when the rubber meets the road. Is my story unique? No, such stories, happens every day. We think it will never happen to us, it is always someone else, right?

I hope I haven't scared anyone off, because there are plenty of reasons to read this book. It is a Christian book about hope, faith, and peace in difficult times. The theme of the book is three fold. God is good, God is in control, and God doesn't make mistakes. As the title suggests, it is a book about praise! It is a story of good times as well as bad. However, I must warn you; this story is sad, heartbreaking, and sometimes painful to read!

Nevertheless, should you choose to read it, you will discover a story of God's grace and peace in the midst of the storm. This true story will not only uplift your spirit, but it will send it souring...

"Life is like a voyage; sometimes there is smooth sailing, sometimes there are storms..."

I Will Praise You in the Storm: The Story of Stephen and Holly Deaube, a Journey of Faith

@Kristin- That sounds great (: What exactly is an advanced reader's group?

message 25: by Kristin (last edited Jan 12, 2016 10:39PM) (new)

Kristin Spencer (kristinnspencer) | 9 comments @Mary Kate- An advanced readers group gets to read the book in chunks before it is published and can offer feedback and even make suggestions that can change the story. It is a great way for authors to fix any plot holes and make sure the book is headed in the direction they think it's headed as far as reader response. It is also fun as an advanced reader because you get to read books for free before anyone else has access to them. Then in exchange for reading the book, you review it when it comes out, only giving your honest opinion of course :)

message 27: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Holmes (authorsheilaholmes) Hello, to all of you! I feel so blessed to have this outlet to talk with- and be with other big-time readers, like myself.
I may have a number of books released, but all of it is in the last two years, so I still consider myself a "newbie" writer.
Here are some of the novels I've written:

WEDDING WOES SERIES:
Book 1 ~ A Wedding Disaster... or was it?
Book 2 ~ A Catastrophic Wedding Reception... or Maybe Not?
Book 3 ~ Wedding Designed by Email... KiirstiAan's Nightmare?

AWESOME LOVE SERIES:
Book 1 Vol 1 ~ Becoming His Awesome Beauty: Volume 1
Book 1 Vol 2 ~ Becoming His Awesome Beauty: Volume 2
Book 2 Vol 1 ~ Fixing His Broken Ballerina: Volume 1
Book 2 Vol 2 ~ Fixing His Broken Ballerina: Volume 2

Everything is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Smashwords, and other digital retailers.

And, THREE of the above are FREE full length romance novels on almost all the above-listed digital retailers.

Thank you for the opportunity to share what I've worked so hard on.

I am thankful that you are all available to "chat" and give me support.

Karis No, problem at all. I actually sat down and read A Wedding Disaster... or was it? on my kindle right away. I have to say that I just loved it!!!!! I was a little unsure about the beginning but once I understood what was going on with the emailing and everything I got right into it.

It was such a unique read and was really well done. Bravo on your creativity. I love all the stories themselves but they were so much more special because of the interaction back in forth with the mom and her daughter. *five stars without doubt*

Thank you, Karis. I'm so honored... that you took the time to read it at all, and that you further took the time to give me some feedback.

I think you have the gift of encouragement, new friend Karis.

message 32: by Karis (new)

Karis Aww.. That's sweet of you to say, thanks :)

I've just been really enjoying your books. I have to say you are good at finishing the books as cliff hangers ;) As soon as I get some money put on my kindle I'm getting the rest of your multiple series.

Awesome Beauty is a very creative name and while I was reading your description of Awsty, I got a very vivid mental picture. Wow! She sure had a hardened heart. It was such a joy to see her life doing a complete 360.

Your books also prodded me to ask myself some tough questions. Would I be that loving to someone like Awsty? Would I be so willing to pray, giving up my time for others, and be so public about my faith? Would I be there as a shoulder to cry on for those that are hurting around me?

When I read Fixing His Broken Ballerina (yes, I'm a fast reader), I'm afraid I read a major spoiler. I actually stood up and was like, "What!" Awsty and Mason! I didn't see that happening and am super curious about how that all worked out. Hmm? I'll just have to keep reading I suppose.

Which means, you'll have to keep writing ;) Please do! God bless you and keep you writing and weaving Christian themes into your books.

Tyrone Wilson | 31 comments Hi Everyone.

I've written and published a book titled "God's Redemptive Plan For Young Adults and High School Students" which came about from questions asked by my Sunday school class (high school age). This book identifies the revelation and unveiling of God's plan to redeem mankind throughout the ages, as well as redemptive acts to come, prophetically speaking.

This book is really for all Christians who don't have a complete picture of the redemptive and prophetic history. I've learned that understanding the whole story definitely helps with my Christian walk.

Stephen Bishop | 24 comments 'Finding a place to settle' is the title of some material put together by myself on the Old Testament character of Ruth, now published as a book. It looks at Ruth finding her God-given identity, and the lessons we can learnt to find ours.

Book is currently listed as a Goodreads 'Giveaway' - but time's running out! Pray that readers will hear God speak through this small book.

message 40: by Jonathan (last edited Aug 19, 2016 10:30AM) (new)

Jonathan Brenneman | 4 comments Hi guys, I'm Jonathan Brenneman. I'm a missionary in Brazil and have published two books.

"I Am Persuaded" uncovers an authoritarian, hierarchical bias in Bible translation and shows that the Epistles agree with Jesus teaching that his disciples must not exercise authority over each other, and are all brothers.

"The Power and Love Sandwich" shares my story of experiencing God supernaturally, refuting a false dichotomy between God's power and his nature. It creates an expectation for our character to be transformed as we "earnestly desire" spiritual gifts and experience God's power. We must seek God's face and his hand-the two cannot be separated.

The "Heaven Now" series is soon to be published-"Present Access To Heaven," "I Will Awaken The Dawn," and "Jesus Has Come In The Flesh." This series is all about understanding the simple truths of the gospel-the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Christians often mentally acknowledge these truths but deny the biblical implications of them. When we accept a weakened version of the gospel, like a vaccination containing
a weakened version of a virus, we can become resistant to the real thing.

This series helps us to recognize where we have denied the implications of the gospel and then to fully embrace everything that Jesus' incarnation, death, and resurrection implies for us. It's not only theological, but is full of stories and miraculous testimonies which illustrate the scriptural truths. I can't wait to release it!

C. Read (truelight) | 312 comments Hi! My name is C. Read, and I first published my testimony entitled: "Walking With the Enemy," back in 1995. It is now in the 5th Edition, and if you could see the 1st Edition and each subsequent edition, you would see a major transformation!

As "Real Christians," it reminds me of our walk with the Lord. At first we are a little rough around the edges and then He continually shapes and molds us to how He wants us to be. And until we get to Heaven we will always need some polishing up! :)

I love to share my testimony of what God has done in my life. I do admit that it can be hard to understand at times, and its not a book that you can just jump into the middle of it and expect to know what is going on. All I ask folks is to prayerfully read it and let the Lord speak to you through those pages...

Let me know if you would like a copy, and I would love to send it to those who would like to read it. However, you can go to my website and read a preview if you want at www.truelightpublications.com.

Take care! And may God bless and keep you and your loved ones!

With the love of Christ,
C. Read

Chris Lambert | 3 comments Hi everyone, I'm Chris. I just got my very first novel accepted in Kindle Scout! Very exciting. The campaign runs till Dec 27 and if it's successful, everyone who nominates it gets a free copy from Kindle, and I get a 5-year publishing contract.

It's called Brother James: Growing Up With the Messiah.

If you care to nominate it please go to this link:

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/DPML...

Something I just read elsewhere - Kindle doesn't give orange "bestseller" banners to Christian books because there aren't enough books in the category. I'd like to change that! Let's support Christian books.
