Sophia Martin | 18 comments I've read the first two books. I enjoyed the first, but the second annoyed the heck out of me. It was slow. The Fool was pouty and sulky and I had no patience for him (people like him enough to have voted for him as best fantasy character on a recent poll! What??). The female characters all exist solely to prop up male characters. All of them are obsessed with male characters and have no other lives.

Is the third book better?

Did you like the second book? What did you like about it?

Spike Anderson (spikeanderson) | 3 comments Hi Sophia, I read that trilogy (Tawney Man?) after reading the other preceding Trilogies and I think that was the right move (Liveship, Assassin). Because by the time you get to the series centering the Fool, there has been tremendous secondary character development. You are right, it is a slow series but I think w that other background the pace is organic and pleasant.

Sophia Martin | 18 comments The Tawney Man series looks like it comes after the Farseer Trilogy, though I could very well be confused. Are you saying you started with the Tawney Man books and then went back to read the Farseer trilogy?
