You're probably right, I'd say the zombies would win

Not all vamps are affected by the sun. I think vamps would win because they can think and strategize. Zombies can't

I agree with Terri.

That is a true point - I was thinking of sheer volume, I'd think there would be way more zombies. But you're right that the vamps can use brains and bombs and such

It also depends on which versions of these types of fictional characters you go by.

For instance: Zombies, there's currently popular zombies which are the rotting, flesh hungry, mindless walkers (i.e. The Walking Dead). But back before "Night of the Living Dead" popularized this type, there were zombies, which were simply dead people resurrected by magic. Some were mindless automatons, which simply did menial tasks for the person who raised them. Others were brought back with full cognition, aware of who they were before they died.

As for vampires, if we went with Twilight vampires (shudder), they'd be mostly immune to anything the walker zombies could do to them. As for traditional vampires, I'd think they'd have the advantage over walkers. Faster and stronger, but they can't feed on zombies (vamps can't drink blood from the dead). So this means they would have to compete for a food source. Or this would mean that in a vamps vs zombies fight, it would actually be over who gets control over the remaining humans, once a human is turned, they can no longer be food for vampires. In this respect, I think the vampires would lose. Once a human is turned (to vampire or zombie) they can no longer be fed on.

Fun fact about vampires, there's a few legends about vampires are actually people who hibernate in coffins, and project a corporeal form which goes around and feeds on humans.

Zombies would win because they would eat all the people. Vampires need people to drink their blood.
Therefore vampires would starve to death. :)

I would go with the zombies because they'd eat the vampires' brains. And if the vampires tried to suck ther blood it would probably taste pretty nasty so they'd starve. Also zombies could drag them into the light and have roasted vamp brain for lunch :)

I'll agree with Aurelius, Zombies...they don't need blood to survive. Although vamps are stronger, they'd eventually starve.

Vampires are more moral... and sometimes they are made so out of not their free will so...VAMPIRES

There was a show called Deadliest Warrior which pitted different fighters from history against each other, pirate versus knight, Viking versus samurai, things like that. They tested weapons and strategies, and at the end ran a simulation to see which would win. They did an episode on vampires versus zombies. Three vampires fought 300 zombies and the vampires won.
