Samantha | 15 comments Looking for a book where in the beginning the heroine spots the hero while sitting in a coffee shop.(The hero is well known) While she is outside she almost gets hit by a car and the hero saves her, He invites her to his home and she ends up cutting her self on glass and he sews up her finger. He is really reclusive and his family is a bit odd. She ends up finding out that he was married and that his brother and him got into an accident and his wife is now in a mental hospital due to issues. She meets an old high school fling at the news paper where she goes to try and find the details of what happened. The hero eventually takes her to see his dad (which everyone thought he died because his plane crashed, but they just faked his death) Which she finds out that he has a mental issue and is staying in a hospital, almost like he has multiple personality disorder. He explains to her he has the same issue and he is taking medication for it. When she finds out that the heros wife is released from the mental hospital she leaves, she reads on the news and magazines that they are to be married and she ends up cutting her wrist, not committing suicide though she was drunk and thought she seen them and ended up cutting her wrist with the bottle that broke. The hero goes the hospital and tells her that hes not married to her and that she is actually his half-sister. She then finds out that her mom and the heros dad were once together and that the half-sister is actually her moms daughter. During the end the half-sister kidnapped the hero and heroine and ends up killing the heroines mom in the process and the half-sister gets shot by the police but before she dies she ends up stabbing the hero. That is where the book ends.

Samantha, around what year did you read this book?

Does she learn about his wife's condition far into the book - or early on (and this might be mentioned in the book's blurb)?

Do you mean the hero has the same mental condition (multiple personality disorder) as his father?

Do you remember the heroine or hero's jobs/background/etc.?

I read the book this year.

She learned about the wife's condition in about the middle of the book.

Yes the hero has the same condition as the father.

I honestly do not remember the heroines job but I do know that her and her friend were going to open up their own business together. As for the Hero all I can remember is that his family owns a lot of different businesses around the city including the newspaper that the heroines friend works at.

Hope this helps! This book was very interesting to me and I know that it the book ended in a cliffhanger so I know that there will be another coming out.

Samantha, what's the tone/genre - romantic suspense, dark psychological thriller, etc.?

What's the location - U.S./country, big city like New York/small city, midwest/seaside, etc.?

Do you learn about the hero's multiple personality disorder early in the story?

It did not say it was a certain type of romance but my guess it would be more of a romantic suspense because of everything that happens in the book.

I don't know for sure what city they are in I want to say New York, but it is in a big city but also part of the book is based in a small town

No you don't learn about his disorder until halfway through the book.

This is like the biggest "Brain-fart" I have had with trying to remember a book, it is horrible.
