Young Adult Historical Fiction discussion

It's that time again! Time to nominate some books for October's group read. The rules are:

•All books should be within the YAHF genre. This means no 18+ material, and, obviously, all books must be historical.
•You may only nominate one book.
•Authors cannot nominate their own books.
•You should not nominate a book that has already been chosen as a group read.

The nominations will end on October 1st and will then be put to a vote!

Has this group read anything by Rae Carson yet? I'm wondering if her newest, Walk on Earth a Stranger, would be a good one to try.

I don't think we have yet. I've been wanting to read The Queen's Soprano for a while, so that will be my nomination.

For my nomination I'm going to suggest Prisoner of Night and Fog as it's been on my to read list for a while!

I'm new to the group so I don't know what you've done before - have you done The Madman's Daughter? It's a bit old, but I've always wanted to read it and never gotten around to it. Also, I don't know if you ever do sequels - Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray is on my to-read list as well!

Hi Andrea. First off welcome to the group! We have already read The Madman's Daughter as a group read; if you'd like you can check out past group reads here.

We prefer not to have sequels for the group reads as often many people have not read the first book and so are a bit confused as to what may be happening/who the characters are. But you are very welcome to nominate the first book in the series!
