As usual with lists, I don't understand the underlining system. Here even more. How high literature for children - but not only! - as Little Women or Anne of Green Gables can go together with nice books as The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Book Thief or Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and horrible bad written things as Divergent?

Here are mine:

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
2. Alanna: The First Adventure
3. The Lightning Thief
4. Anne of Green Gables
5. A Wrinkle in Time
6. The Hunger Games

The author clearly went for a contemporary list and dropped most classics (with a couple exceptions). Still, all the books I've read from the list except for The Lightning Thief I found entertaining.

Here are mine (that I've read, not that are on my reading list):
1) Little women
2) The Lightning Thief
3) The Perks of Being a Wallflower
4) The Book Thief
5) The Fault in Our Stars
6) The Hunger Games
7) Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone

There are many that I haven't read I see, but I agree with you Laura, it's weird that they've put Little Women last, while some of the others on there don't in even compare to it.

I am surprised The Book Thief is considered to be YA too, especially given the focus of events in the story.

Agreed, I read it at university and again last year, I would not deem it YA but I am not sure, like others, what makes a book YA. Also I am sad that I am no longer counted as a young adult haha!
