Most recent completed read in this challenge Insanity (Mad in Wonderland) (Insanity #1) by Cameron Jace and by far the most odd!!!

I was close to giving this 5 stars but I can't quite put my finger on why I really enjoyed this strange book.

A retelling of sorts of Lewis Carroll's Alice Adventures that is like nothing I have read before. I found myself completely drawn in to a story that was at times laughable but I couldn't help but want to read more.

Is it the figment of a crazy girls imagination? Are characters from Wonderland really disguised as 'normal' people in modern times? Is she the 'real' Alice?

I read many reviews before starting the book and they are a mixed bunch - I'd say give it a go! Yes the story is bonkers and yes there are plenty of unbelievable elements (coming and going from a mental asylum?!) but isn't that what reading is all about? Let go of reality and lose yourself in a magical and somewhat crazy story

Leni Iversen (leniverse) | 354 comments That looks interesting! I like me a bit of bizarre and crazy. I'm not sure where to fit it in though. I've got so many challenges going, but nothing that can accommodate a retelling of Alice in Wonderland. Hm, I am contemplating an A-Z of fantasy/sci-fi, and I guess it would fit there. One question, when I look up the book it says it's book no. 1. Does that mean the book ends on a cliffhanger, or is it more like the author might do a retelling of Through the Looking-Glass next?

Bookworm_gem (gembear) It's a series - I have the first 3 and but I think it has 6 in the full series. As mentioned it's a retelling of sorts....in the sense that the characters are used in a completely different way!

Not what I expected it to be but loved it. What an emotional journey.

Bookworm_gem (gembear) Complete The Bell Jar
I've never been dragged to such a dark place and the most scary part is I could relate to a lot.
