Hello everyone,

I would like to put in a recommendation request on behalf of a friend. She's not a Goodreads member, so she can't put in a request herself.

She's interested in Historical Romantic Suspense and Contemporary Romantic Suspense books featuring a psychopath/serial-killer/stalker obsessed with some woman.

If you could please recommend some good books that meet her requirements, it would be very much appreciated by both of us :-)

Thank you :-)

*Dawn (x1f4dadawnx1f4da) I just finished reading Dream Man by Linda Howard . The H wasn't my particular cup of tea (too domineering) but the story was very good. I've seen it pop up quite a bit recently as a favorite book of many. Your friend might like it.

I also would recommend to anyone the Troubleshooter series by Suzanne Brockmann. Book 15 in the series Hot Pursuit (Troubleshooters, #15) by Suzanne Brockmann features a horrible serial killer. I would recommend reading these in order. Perhaps she could check out the first one in the series, The Unsung Hero (Troubleshooters, #1) by Suzanne Brockmann to see if this is to her liking.

Those are two that just popped into my head. Hope this is helpful.

I do need to state that the Troubleshooter series is on the grittier side. It is based on either military or ex-military members, very much alpha-males, and there is going to be foul language, sex scenes, etc. If your friend if looking for "clean" stories, these are not it! ;)

C. | 36 comments The one I just finished that I thought was chick lit had that! I think readers who like those stories would enjoy it. I loved the MCs especially the hero! The Crazy Girl's Handbook (The Handbook Series, #1) by DelSheree Gladden

BACK WITH A NEW REQUEST :-)

Hello everyone,

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for your recommendations for my friend. We both appreciate it very much :-)

Now I'm back―this time with a recommendation request for myself :-)

I'm usually into golden-age mysteries, cozy mysteries, and cute, reasonably clean contemporary romances. However, occasionally―like now―I go through phases when I crave some thrill and excitement, lol, and venture out of my comfort zone into the world of romantic suspense :-)

Some of my favourite authors of this genre are: Toni Anderson, Sandra Brown, Catherine Coulter, Janie Crouch, Diana Duncan, Cindy Gerard, Rachel Grant, Linda Howard, Melinda Leigh, Judith McNaught, Karen Rose, Nora Roberts, and Norah Wilson.

These days I'm reading PVAD: FBI Series by Calle J. Brookes. (I got the first two books for free on Amazon).

Watching (PAVAD FBI Romantic Suspense, #1) by Calle J. Brookes Watching, Wanting (PAVAD FBI Romantic Suspense, #2) by Calle J. Brookes Wanting, Hunting (PAVAD FBI Romantic Suspense, #5) by Calle J. Brookes Hunting, and so on.

The stories are interesting, and I've become attached to the characters. The writing and editing could be better―which is why this author hasn't made it to my favourites―but other than that, I'm quite enjoying the books :-)

Anyway, if anyone could please recommend me some good contemporary romantic suspense books, I'd really appreciate it. Series are fine, but I'd prefer it if each book could be read as a standalone. Happy endings. No cliffhangers. Plus, nothing too dark and grim. Or dry and clinical. I should be able to care about the characters, and if there is a bit of humour here and there, so much the better. The books don't have to be particularly clean. As I said, I'm prepared to venture out of my comfort zone while reading this genre. Besides, if a scene gets too graphic for me, I can always skip it. Lol. Romance/suspense ratio should be balanced: 50/50 or 40/60.

Of course, I'll also be checking out the books already mentioned in this thread which I haven't read yet, but if anyone can think of other authors/series/books matching my requirements, please do let me know :-)

Thank you :-)
