If you could talk to a fantasy romance author, what questions would you ask her/him?
I'm putting together a book festival talk and I'd like to address reader questions, especially questions from an audience that may not be familiar with the subgenre. What questions would you ask?

I'd ask: Why do you like to write romance? What is it about sexual tension that stirs your ideas.

It's not so much about the sexual tension but about the relationship building. How can I make these two seemingly very dissimilar people come together to form a bond that the reader believes will last beyond the end of the book? The sexual tension is the sizzle--and it's a lot of fun to write--but the meat is the relationship, the compromises and attitude changes that people who are in love make when they figure out that being together is much more satisfying than being alone.

Probably because I enjoy my relationship, and I hope others can find someone with whom they experience similar happiness.
