Hello, Jessica.(spoiler warning!!)
To sum it up, I really enjoyed the trilogy. I'd rate it 5/5 as I found the plot exciting and not too predictable. It felt like an adventure, a dark yet enchanting one. I wish we would have learned more about the other peculiar children - maybe that's also why the second novel is my favourite one.
The ending... as lovely as it seems, I thought that it's not very believable. Too rushed, too many unlikely coincidences.
You may call me a downer, but somehow I think it might be possible that the ending... did not really happen. Maybe saying goodbye to his peculiar family (and his beloved Emma) and what his "normal" family put him through after he returned simply was more than he could take. Maybe (and hopefully) I'm totally wrong, but it felt like an exaggerated scenario made up by a broken boy, alone and bereft of everything that was dear to him, as a desperate attempt to escape his fate.
What did everyone think? What would you rate this trilogy as a whole?
