Mary Chin (maryamdinzly) Don't be strangers. The point of a bookclub is to unite readers together. So take this chance to actually introduce yourselves to people. :) i'll start with myself.
My name is Maryam and i am an avid book reader/reviewer. I love all kinds of books and are open to all kinds, really. but like every other bookworm, i have my own favorite genre, which is Romance. :) I do review books on a daily basis on my blog http://leodinzlyandra.blogspot.com but as you can see from th name, its not a main book blog. i do post my personal stuffs there, so if you dont mind that, you could follow me. also, i do promotions for other book blogs.

And oh,another note, i need another moderator who can make this group better,so tell me if youre interested :)

ps. im 20 btw.

message 16: by James (new)

James (birchoverjames) Good morning,
been a member of Gr for about 2 to 3 years but just joined this group. Over the years my reading habits have changed. These days have a wide variety of genres I read from Westerns, to crime, to thrillers, to scifi to fantasy and even erotic fiction so I am happy to tlak about most genres.
These days tend to use my kindle to download more books, but still cannot get out of the habit of buying books. Like browsing in the second hand shops and use the local library regularly. Like the idea of booking on line and collecting at the weekend.
Thank you for having me.

Hello James :)
i can relate to your feelings about buying books. ive always preferred buying a book physically than reading it through an ebook. :)

Ashly Theia (ashlytheia) | 1 comments Hello :) I'm Mashyitah, 22 years old from Singapore. Books are what keep me sane during my sad and tough times. I used to write several short stories a couple years ago, and hope to start again sometime. I'm into literary books especially, so if you have any good ones to recommend, it's be great. Also into crime fiction, a bit of romance, psychological-related stuff. I've just started out on GoodReads recently, so drop by a hello some time! :D Cheers!

Alice Poon (alice_poon) Maryam, thank you for inviting me to this interesting group.

Hello Janessa, Basma, Cat, Irish, Caroline, James, Anna (Wise Birdy), Kitty (Krithika), Mashyitah and Holly,

Nice to meet you all!

I am Alice from Vancouver Canada and Hong Kong (I call both places home) and I love to read and write, although my writing stint only started after I retired from the 9 to 5 office jobs. I like classics (especially French classics - I learned French in my twenties as a third language, with Cantonese being my mother tongue and English my second language), historical fiction, biography, literary fiction and non-fiction.

I've written one non-fiction book "Land and the Ruling Class in Hong Kong" and one novel "Fated and Fateless" which was just released.

Looking forward to connect with you!

Hello to all the new comers!

message 47: by Jonel (new)

Jonel Hey all. Now that I've found this magical, hidden thread I'll introduce myself.

Hey all! I'm glad to be here. I'm Jonel.

I love to read. I enjoy almost everything thrown at me. As a history & biology major & 9 years of uni anything that reminds me of a textbook is out of the question. As is anything slasher-esque. But that's because I'm a chicken.

I prefer my kobo over my kindle because when my dog climbs in my lap she has a harder time turning the page on me. But I still believe there's nothing better than a print copy in my hands.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Jonel and welcome:)

message 50: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Mclaren I'm Pam and I'll freely admit to being a reading addict. I've always been interested in mysteries, having cut my teeth on Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and Sherlock Holmes, but have branched out to histories, biographies and most recently into just about anything else with a good story and good writing behind it.

I love the touch and smell of a physical book but I'm discovered I'm reading a lot on my Kindle and its a lot more convenient when I'm on vacation that lugging 4-5 books with me. I belong to a university book club and have signed up for a couple on Goodreads (which I'm spending far too much time on!) but am just getting into the habit of contributing comments. I look forward to learning more about my fellow readers and joining in the conversation.
