What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I seem to remember it was published like 4-6 years ago. It was a novel (not about real facts), and it exposed how what seemed, at first, a blessing, turned out to be not-so-wonderful afterwards...
I noticed it when it came out, but now I can't remember its title or more details, and I'd like to read it.

Could it possibly be Death with Interruptions by José Saramago?

That would be my guess as well, having just read that book a couple months ago.
