Just found this list - and I will be creating our November Poll for this:

Looks like I have read about 22 of these so far . . . with kids, I have been reading Goodnight Moon at least weekly - if not more.

Justin (rockstarintraining) I feel like Goodnight Moon is a little overrated. I think I've memorized The Cat in the Hat though.

"Goodnight mush" is a classic line! Very quotable!

Kirstin | 92 comments I agree Justin. :) I had to hide Green Eggs and Ham. I just couldn't read it again.

Justin (rockstarintraining) But could you read it on a boat? Or could you read it with a goat?

Michael Finocchiaro (fino) | 40 comments I read 91 on that list but there are tons of repeats and there is no fucking way that The Hunger Games is on the same list as Ulysses. That would be like having Donald Trump in the damn White House! Oh, shit.

Meh - its Amazon . . . probably based a lot on sales. I was actually intrigued to see how different each list is and I bet a report on the demographics that decided each would be interesting.

I have read 32 of these now - and, I think the list changes from time to time . . .

Only up to 34 - two more in one year is no so good!

Henry (hankc) | 8 comments I have read 25 of these. It seems skewed to popular recent books. How do you include "Where the Sidewalk Ends", "Harry Potter" and "The Hunger Games", among others and leave out "War and Peace", "Ulysses", "The Grapes of Wrath", "Moby Dick" etc.?

message 12: by Jessica-sim (new)

Jessica-sim 21 only... Not so good. It's an interesting list though, a different selection then usual.

Yeah, this might be more of a bestseller list or staff pick list.

Jessica-sim 22, maybe I'll manage Kavelier and Clay still.... then progress to 23

message 15: by Eileen (new)

Eileen | 151 comments Hmm...I've read 34 of these. There are some other books on this list that are on my list, so I may have to see how many more of these I can read.

Wow- I am up to 46 this year - either I didn't count correctly last year (or this year) or I just had a very good reading year!

I've read only 18 on this list, but have at least a dozen of them in my stacks, waiting :) I always find these type lists to include books I have absolutely no interest in reading so I will never complete an entire list. I'm OK with that.
