What did you read this week? Nimona
Did you enjoy it? Yes, a lot!
Do you usually read graphic novels? Yes, often, I enjoy to change a little from novels, here and there.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? It was highly recommended by a friend with similar tastes in books and as it was a standalone, it was really appealing.

Did you enjoy it? Yes
Do you usually read graphic novels? No not really, this is my second graphic novel that I ever read.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? I love the batman franchise in general and for this week I wanted to expand my love for batman by reading the graphics of it. This particular one was recommend by a friend of mine, which I'm glad that they did.

The Complete Persepolis
Did you enjoy it?
Yes, I loved it!
Do you usually read graphic novels?
Not all the time but when I do read them I really enjoy them.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel?
The subject matter interested me and I was intrigued to see a memoir/autobiography in graphic novel form. I also loved the drawings so they helped attract me to it.

Did you enjoy it? Enjoy is probably not the right word, as the subject matter is so tragic and serious but it is, in my opinion, brilliant.
Do you usually read graphic novels? Never have before.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? It's the first one that came to mind as I looked over the categories for this challenge. I'd heard about it for years so now seemed like the time to read it.

I enjoyed it - it is fun and very self-revealing, although I ended up wishing Allie learned to cope with her problems better in the future.
I don't read graphic novels at all. This topic opened my mind and I discovered that graphic novels are not only about muscle men/women in tight shorts and capes. I will definitely read more!
How did I find it? Well, it literally fell in front of me off the shelves. My kids got this for Christmas and somehow it got brushed off the shelf... so I picked it up and I am glad I did!

The Odyssey
Did you enjoy it?
I found it a very quick read that made The Odyssey more accessible for me.
Do you usually read graphic novels?
No
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel?
I have tried to read The Odyssey many times and I thought I may get through it with this type of book. It worked. It is not a genre that I will be using again though.

I devoured this book in little over an hour. I have never read a graphic novel (other than Archie comics as a teenager). You should have seen me with the sales clerk at Books a Million, sitting in the floor, poring over the graphic novel selection.
I like realistic fiction, memoirs, etc. I chose this book because it was an autobiography. I was so intrigued! The artist expressed such emotion through his drawings. Excellent.

Watchmen
Did you enjoy it?
Yes. I didn't really enjoy the movie, but I liked the graphic novel.
Do you usually read graphic novels?
No, this was my first ever.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel?
So many people spoke of how great Watchmen is, so I thought I would try it out.

Princeless Book 1: Save Yourself
Did you enjoy it?
YES!
Do you usually read graphic novels?
A lot, and a lot of comic books.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel?
I chose it because it was one I really wanted to read that I hadn't read yet. It was mainly an excuse to buy it, lol.

The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks
Did you enjoy it?
Yes.
Do you usually read graphic novels?
Never.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel?
I originally wanted to read either Persepolis or Maus but didn't really want to buy them and that was my only option for those. So I looked through the digital graphic novels my library has and this one was the only one that was both available and seemed interesting. Plus it's almost Halloween so zombies seemed like a good fit!

Did you enjoy it? Yes! I enjoyed it "alot". (Check out Allie's Alot here - http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.ch/... - I was so disappointed that he didn't make it into the book!) She's so frank, and honest, and real.
Do you usually read graphic novels? Never ever.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? I love her blog, particularly the Alot, and when I found out that she'd released a book, I bought it!

Did you enjoy it? Yes I sure did.
Do you usually read graphic novels? Not really. I have read a few in the last couple of years.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? I had already read the book and liked it so I figured I would like the graphic novel version of it as well.

Did you enjoy it? Yes I did. There were a lot of interesting things going on in the background of the artwork which was fun. I want to go back through and look more closely.
Do you usually read graphic novels? Nope. I've read one or two in the past.
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? I love fairy tales and mysteries and this was both.

Akira, Vol. 6 by Katsuhiro Otomo
Did you enjoy it? Yes, I did
Do you usually read graphic novels? All the time, especially mangas and comic books :)
For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? I didn't choose it, I just included in the challenge the one I was reading at that moment. But Akira is responsible for the popularization of manga outside Japan, so anyway I might have considered it a good choice if I had thought a little :P

For what reason did you choose this graphic novel? It was one I thought I would like.
