James Morcan | 11378 comments How powerful are the Knights Templar, and their modern-day offshoots the Knights of Malta and Knights of Lazarus, in the modern era?

This intriguing video interview got me thinking about this subject...

Jim (jimliedeka) The Knights of Malta are a modern offshoot of the Knights Hospitalers. While they also formed around the time of the crusades, they're a completely separate group. They are/were both Catholic.

Okay.
Where does one get the application forms to apply to join these Knights groups? :)

But seriously, who thinks these organizations are still powerful like they were almost 1,000 years ago?

What was interesting about the video I posted above is that the British lawyer who inadvertently received inside knowledge about the shadow government, claims the current Middle East conflict is a continuation of the Knights medieval crusades in that region...

Jim (jimliedeka) I wonder if some of this is less of a leap for Europeans. (I just watched the video.)

As an American, my roots don't really go back to Europe, even though I could tell you all the nationalities of my ancestors. My parents raised me as a Catholic but it was never some deep spiritual thing. For me, it was a boring thing I had to do every Sunday.

I think it's different in Europe. The Roman church dominated the continent, temporally as well as spiritually, until the Reformation. Even now, the Vatican has a lot of wealth and influence. There's still a lot of fallout from rivalries between Catholicism and various sects of Protestants. Look at Northern Ireland, for a fairly recent example. It seems to me, these historical factors play more of a role in the psyches of many Europeans.

I'm interesting in reading that guy's book but I have to wonder if the spiritual angle has a lot of practical relevance. It's hard for a colonial like me to wrap his head around it.

"The secret society Breivik describes aims to re-create the Knights Templar. Known by their trademark white mantles bearing a red cross, the Knights Templar were skilled fighters during the Crusades who wielded enormous political and economic influence during the Middle Ages. Breivik wrote that there was a secret meeting in London in April 2002 to rebuild the order and that nine people representing eight European countries attended."
The Knights Templar were not pleased:

It is of concern to many that Muslims are becoming a majority in the northern European countries and that it is their goal to become the main religion and rule in Europe. This is where, I think, Anders considers himself a Knights Templar, because he's on a crusade to protect the northern nations from being taken over by middle east...at least that's my understanding. The people (incl. children) that he madsacred were all politically active and supported immigration.

If one were to just go by what is stated on the above link (knight's Templar website), then they are merely mercenaries

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) If you're feeling the need to join up with some like-minded fellows, there's the Shriners, the Kiwanis, the Elks, and of course the Raccoon Clubs

James Morcan | 11378 comments Secret Underground Chambers Of Caynton Caves And The Knights Templar Connection https://www.ancientpages.com/2019/08/...

Fear of persecution often forced the Christian brotherhood to hide in places unknown to outsiders, and underground chambers were often used for secret meetings.

Knights Templar Often Held Secret Meetings Underground
In Europe, there are many magnificent subterranean complexes, but it’s sometimes difficult to determine whether the underground chambers were used by Freemasons, Knights Templar or Pagans.
