Polly Robb | 3 comments Written by a professor at a college such as Julliard (for music), this book shows the power of allowing risk taking by students if you take away their fear of not getting an A in the class

Was this aimed at a general audience - something that might end up on the NYT bestseller list, for example - or was it something only educators would read? When did you read it or hear about it? When you say "such as Juilliard" - does that mean you're pretty sure it was a performing arts type school?

Polly Robb | 3 comments Yes, this was aimed at a general audience, not scholarly at least. It was written, as I remember, by a professor at a school for musicians. His examples were about students who came to that school afraid to play poorly (because of the pressure and competition there) or learn a differently from him, so he would give them an A at the beginning of the year to take that pressure off and then they began to open up to taking risks. thanks for your help
