Lt. Commander Hrothgar Tebrey was assigned to the archaeological expedition as a military attaché because of his knowledge of alien technology. The technology found in the ancient ruins isn't exactly alien, however, and the ruins look a little too familiar.
Now, someone - or something - is manipulating events to sabotage the expedition: something that doesn't want anyone to know about the discoveries, and will do anything to silence the scientists.
To save the expedition and the woman he loves, Tebrey must learn that while some things are worth dying for, but it's the things worth living for that matter.
The Remnant ties together themes of love, loss, and sacrifice in a distant future that is both frightening and hopeful. Set in the latter half of the 30th century, this story, the first in a series, focuses on a fallen colony world on the edge of human-settled space. Bigger-picture elements, such as an interstellar war, play out in the background but still impact the characters in profound ways.
The main character, Hrothgar Tebrey, is a soldier who is deeply conflicted about the things that he has had to do in his career. He begins the story alone and without hope, but matures and grows over the course of the story to become the hero for the rest of the series. You see him here at the end of his career, but the beginning of his journey.

Sorry but my grammar nazi came out when you hit upon one of my pet peeves; using the wrong word.You wrote, "The underlying message of,A Warriors Redemption, is the story of life that may of us face, but few choose to except."
Three problems in this sentence. The books title should have been put in quotation marks or preferably underlined (although I don't know that you can do that on Goodreads without using HTML which I know nothing about). It should not have been place between commas. It not a parenthetical. It the name of your book. Second is putting "but few choose to except after a comma. "...but few choose to except" is not a complete sentence following a conjunction. The comma should have been left out. Finally, my biggest pet peeve after obvious spelling errors is the use of the wrong word. The sentence should have read "...few choose to accept".
Again. Sorry. Obvious grammatical errors get my goat especially when they are from someone who is supposedly a professional writer.

Hi everyone!Today, Friday, May 29, is the 1-year anniversary of the release of my first novel, Dakiti: Ziva Payvan Book 1. I like to describe the genre of the series as "sci-fi-meets-spy-thriller." As you might suspect, the story stars Ziva Payvan, an assassin who is a member of a superhuman race and works for the primary law enforcement agency on her planet. She by no means thinks of herself as a hero (she refers to herself as a "problem solver" and believes good and evil are kind of relative to the situation) but she often gets the role of hero thrust upon her, which is something she's not really a fan of.
