Apparently Poul Anderson's birthday was Nov 25th. Celebrate by commenting or reading the Broken Sword!

Glad you enjoyed that Jack. I first "discovered" The Broken Sword by reading Michael Moorcock's review it in Wizardry and Wild Romance: A Study of Epic Fantasy (originally published in the Guardian). That sent me on a search for the book. I ended up getting the author's cut version which has some subtle differences.
Blackgate did a nice review of the comparisons:

I adored most of the Elric novels, but have tried to read Revenge of the Rose twice and lost interest both times. If you tackle it please share your thoughts.
