The Serpent's Shadow
question
Kane Chronicles versus Harry Potter. Which has a better idea of magic?

It would be cool to see what everybody thought about concepts in Kane Chronicles and Harry Potter. I never read the Harry Potter, but know some about them from my brother and mom. From what I understand, the Kane Chronicles have a better idea of magic. It would be cool to know others' opinions and learn more.

I prefer Harry Potter idea of magic. Maybe it's because I've read HP so long ago and loved him since. I was young and easy to impress.
I'm not sure. I like the actual spells better in Harry Potter, but I like how in the Kane Chronicles, your magic can get "tapped out". It just seems too perfect to have a never-ending supply of magic.
That's a complicated question are two types of magic or rather different reading. Harry Potter has years behind him, not to mention seven books and eight films. I think that even with the Egyptian gods on their side, the Kane playing with disadvantaged
They are a different type of magic. My personal preference, if I had to pick one to actually be able to have, would be Harry Potter magic. I'd love to flip around my wand and be able to do just about anything at any point in time. By the way, you should read Harry Potter ASAP! It's amazing!
I definitely prefer Harry Potter. However, the Kane Chronicles were disadvantaged from the start with me, as I have hated Ancient Egypt since I did a class on it a few years ago. But I did notice that you could probably draw parallels between them. In Harry Potter, you channel your magic through a wand with a core of a powerful magical substance. In the Kane Chronicles, if you don't want to drop from exhaustion, you use a staff to channel your magic. The wands in Harry Potter may act as a multiplier for the witch or wizard's magic, as your average magical person isn't remarkably powerful (just my idea, but if Rowling said or wrote anything like this, it was probably her idea, and I forgot she wrote it). In the Kane Chronicles, the staff has a reserve of magic inside. Those would be different ways of doing magic while expending minimum energy. Sorry if I got any details of the Kane Chronicles wrong, as it's been a few years since I read them.
Agreed. I would choose HP. It has a certain air of mystery and suspense to it. By the way , You should read it . You'll not regret it if you do.
