23: The next book in a series you are reading
Some of the books I have planned to read are coming from the library, so I will be reading those and they will be out of order. But when you are relying on your library, sometimes you are at there mercy. I read Scarlet the first week of Jan. since this one came from the library.
What are you reading this week? Scarlet
- When did you read the first book? Right after my daughter finished reading it and she told me I needed to read it. She bought the book when it first came out.
- How many books are in the series? As of this moment there are four books in the series. I have no idea if the author is going to continue with this series
I am reading out of order as well. I am really excited to read this book since I just finished the previous one in the series and cant wait to get started with this one.- What are you reading this week? The Hero of Ages
- When did you read the first book? I read the two previous books in this series in Nov and Dec 2015. Its a very gripping series and hard to put down.
- How many books are in the series? There are three books in the original Mistborn trilogy. However the author has written some spinoffs set 300 years later in the same universe.
I read Son by Lois Lowry, #4 in The Giver series. I read the first book some time before 2012. There ae four books in the series.

Currently five (this is the fifth one) but supposedly there will be two more books...sometime this century. :)

What are you reading this week?Princeps' Fury by Jim Butcher. I've read one of his other books and liked it, so I thought I'd try these when I spotted them at the library.

Last Sept/Oct. I've been gradually working through the series as I could get them.
How many books are in the series?
Six. And that's all there's going to be as far as I know. Nice to read a series that has an ending!

- When did you read the first book?
I read Cinder back in December and I was instantly enchanted.
- How many books are in the series?
Four books in the series - plus a novella, Fairest, and a short story collection, Stars Above, is being published this year.
I am reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. It's the second book in the series… and I'm not actually sure how many there are in the series. I read the first book last fall, but it was so forgettable that I forgot that I had! It's a series I figure I should read.
I am reading The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss. I read The Name of the Wind for the highest rated on my TBR and I just had to read the next one. 1107 pages so it is setting me back on my book count... it is kind of fun to be immersed in the workd for this long, though.The Kingkiller Chronicle is supposed to be a trilogy but only two books have been written yet. Now I have to wait, just like waiting for The Winds of Winter...

I am stuck in this awful Pokemon mentality when it comes to books at the moment, and I really need to remember that sometimes it's nice to hang around for a while with a good book. I need to snap out of it - especially because I have some whoppers coming up.

I'm in the same place as you Jody, I'm a bit unhappy with my current book because it's taking me more than a week to read. Not a good reason!!

I just finished up Blood Kiss by J.R. Ward.
- When did you read the first book?
It's been at least a year or two since I read the first BDB book.
- How many books are in the series?
At least 13? Maybe more. Had read almost all of the BDB books, except maybe the last one or two. I quit because they got a bit boring, but this one seemed much more like the earlier novels. I like it when the things I hear before reading a book match up to my experience with it.

The Wheel of Time Series has 14 books, this is the 2nd.
The 3rd is also on my 2016 challenge, but I'm unsure if I'll get through them all this year.

I finished The Name of the Wind this weekend and I started this one yesterday. I had initially planned to wait a week or two before diving into this monster, but I realized that I didn't have an other audiobook I wanted to listen to. So, I will try to keep this one audio only until I've finished a few other things, then I'll spend both my listening and reading time on this one.

Currently there are two novels and a short story. There is a 3rd and final book expected eventually.

"Death of a Cad" (Hamish Macbeth #2) by M.C. Beaton

I enjoyed the first novel at the beginning of 2016 so will continue with the series.

- When did you read the first book?
I read the first book, The Apple Orchard, in Sept of 2015. I first was listening to the audio, but the recipes sounded so good, I bought the kindle. Its setting is Sonoma County and the book is about sisters. So there is more than just wine in Sonoma!!

This was the third and final book.
Reading Fool Moon. Book 2 of the Dresden Files.I read the first book as part of last year's challenge.
There are at least a dozen more books in the series. I'm hoping to get up to Book 6 so I can use it for one of the other entries this year.

I read the first book of this particular series last year, but it is a follow up series to the Poison Study series, which I read a few years ago.

It's technically the second of three books, but could also be classed as the 5 of 6 books in the study series or the 8 of 9 of the Chronicles of Ixia.
- What are you reading this week? The Silence of the Lambs- When did you read the first book? I recently started reading the first one which is Red Dragon right at the end of December and finished it at the beginning of January.

For my week eight read I tackled topic #23, the next book in a series...considering I write a blog titled Series-ously Addicted this one was right up my alley. But which series to choose? I settled on a series I had just started because it is so wildly over-the-top crazy there was no way I could stop after just one serving. I read My Little Kitty by Joyee Flynn which is the second book in the Purrfect Mates series. There are a total of eight books in the series and between the time I read book two to now that I am posting about it I have read through book five. The entire series is just crazy-pants but I am finding it to be a lot of fun.
What are you reading this week?It's not really a "series" in the way that I normally think of series, but there are multiple books. I'm reading The House at Pooh Corner
When did you read the first book?
I read it the whole way through last year, but I'm pretty sure I've read pieces of it (if not the whole thing) when I was much younger. Some parts were very familiar.
How many books are in the series?
I think three, officially. Two by A.A. Milne, and a third written much later on with the full support of his estate. Plus there are also two books of poetry, but I'm not sure if they are related.

Oh gosh, probably sometime in 2007? Maybe even 2006? The guy I was dating at the time, he loved the books, so I started reading them to get closer to him. Then I actually enjoyed them. Then I got tired of them. I love the plot. I LOVE the characters (especially Harry and Karrin). But I just find the story so hard to get into. It's gotten very convoluted. I'd been putting this one off for awhile.

I think there are 17 planned so far. This one is 14. 15 is already published (I'm aiming to read that this year as well). 16 and 17 have announced titles, but that's about it.

I'm reading 'The Girl in the Spider's Web' by David Lagercrantz, for this week's challenge. It's the next book in the Millennium series. I read the first book, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Stieg Larsson), soon after it was first published in 2008. There are currently 4 books in the series. However, Stieg Larsson passed away soon after the publication of the third book of the series - so this is the first one under a new author. Makes me somewhat nervous....

Earlier this year. I read it for the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge task of the first book in a series by a person of colour. It was amazing!

I read the first three books all in a row when I was travelling through Europe a couple of years ago - the girls I was travelling with were reading them at the same time, so it was fun! I've had to re-read them this year so I can go on and finish the series. I think I was having such a good time travelling that the storylines didn't stick very well :)

Lol I had to check! 6 (I think) in this series, then at least 3 spin-off series as far as I can see. But I think I will stop at the end of this series.
