LiLi Hathaway (LiLi123) | 56 comments Hi all!
I was just looking online about Vampire Academy and stubled upon this Change.org petition to make Vampire Academy a TV Show!
I'm not sure how much influence this petition will have but hopefully getting the message out there that fans would like a TV Show will do something!

PLEASE SIGN if you would like to see Vampire Academy (and then Bloodlines) on the Silver Screen every week!

2,325 people have already signed and they only need 175 more signatures!

Here's the link:

Just thought I'd share this all the biggest Vampire Academy (and Adrian) fans out there :) xxx

Carly But look at how badly the Vampire Diaries turned out because it was a TV series? They haven't stuck to the books at all!

It's a risky idea...sometimes I wish things were simply left as books and left to the imagination.

LiLi Hathaway (LiLi123) | 56 comments I gather you're a TVD book fan because others have said Plec made "a mediocre book into an amazing and successful show" and that she improved it.

I haven't read the books but maybe she felt some things needed to be changed to be more "TV worthy". I'm not saying at all that I wouldn't mind if she changed things in the book, I'd hate it too.

Yes it's a bit of a risk but we only have one flop of a movie to our name so what's the harm

VA is an amazing series with intense plotlines and amazing characters and a rich history, which I heard the TVD books didn't do so well with (no offense of course)

so the producers wouldn't need to change much because Richelle's writing is really solid. :)

Carly The TVD books were might fine when LJSmith wrote them, they had someone take over the last three and that's when things broke down considerably. But I understand the concept of making things more tv appealing, it's just sad - plus I had read the books before the tv series came about so I had an idea of the plot already, if I'd come to the television series with a book-free mind it would have been different.

I fear with VA as a television series the writers would find it hard to demonise strigoi and we would end up with something like The Originals for them, when In reality the idea is to not hesitate because they are not that person (forgetting about spirit for a moment) also the tv series wouldn't stop with Lissa becoming queen I fear they would have Christian's parents back from the dead, and the undead, and all sorts of unfathomable idiocy like that. And then continue with a story there rather than acknowledging Sydney's story has only just begun. Of course I may be wrong, this is just what I fear.

I have both watched the show and read the books. And I love them both for different reasons. I enjoy the super fantasy aspect of the books and enjoy the shipping and paranormalcy of the TV show. :D

But together, they don't complement, not really. But separate, I love them both!!! <3 <3 <3
