Again it's another polarizing book. Some say its their favorite, some just don't like it. It might be the most philosophical of the bunch, it's a very dark book, but not really in the same way that Reaper's Gale was.
One thing about this book though is that it's the culmination of an arc that began back in House of Chains, and in some ways before the start of the series then. It's a real headsplitter.
All things said, this book might have the craziest ending out of the whole series. It's absolutely insane.
I literally just finished the Esslemont Return of the Crimson Guard book which I gave a 3* to. Very much intrigued about this one now due to your comments! Let's hope I fall on the 'love it' scale...we'll soon see!
I've extended it to the end of December so don't worry as I'm not going to finish this in time either!!

Great, thank you!! Will really need it as it is not a novel one breezes through cos there's so much to keep tabs on.

I for one and very happy to dive back into the Erikson version of things and even though I did like the previous Esslemont book a lot more than the first, I still feel as though Erikson is the better writer of the two the majority of the time. I still think that this book will be a bit of a trial as once again it's ridiculously long :/ but that's kind of what I have come to expect from an Erikson book and series now :)
I would love to see more of the characters of Hellian, Ublala etc from Reaper's again as I do enjoy them a lot, but equally I wonder which part of the world this will fully focus on... we'll soon find out I suppose! :)
Let me know what you're hoping for/looking forward to below...
