Waiting for normal written by Leslie Connor is a young adult fiction book. This book is about life problem solving. In the beginning of the book, the characters will be introduced. Addison Schmeeter is the main character. Addie has a positive attitude with everything is going in her life.
Waiting for normal took place divided in Mommers place and Dwight place. In the book Addison explored new things like camping in the wood and going out of the states in her stepfather, Dwight’s trailer. On her Mommers side Addison had to deal with a bipolar woman and on her stepfather’s side, Dwight always keep her positive and laugh.
Twelve-year-old Addie’s father passed away when she was very little, she lived half of her life without a father until Dwight came in. Dwight and Denise were in love, but did not get along after a while. The got divorced. Dwight stayed in Addie as possible he can. Denise stuffer a bipolar disorder. Bynna and Katie is Dwight little girls. On the way of the book Dwight fell in love with Hannah. Addie wanted Dwight to be happy and find love. Addie is waiting to be normal and not have to deal with crisis. She met the most wonderful woman named Soula. She makes Addie laugh and smile in no any others. Soula has a heart of gold, Addie was curious to know all these cancer information of Soula. Addie wonder what will happen next.
Waiting for normal was released in 2008. This book is filled with friendship value, self-reliance, and family. This is Connor second book she punished. The author kept the story going forward, leading to risk for ahappy ending. I love how the author is telling the readers that how tough we go through; there will always be a happy ending.
I recommended this book to every teenagers dealing with tough time. There’s some chapters were boring, but if you keep reading and be patient, you will expect the unexpected from the characters and their action. I don’t like Denise, The care she have for Addie is not responsible and loveable. She’s rude in a type of way. When I read about Soula at the end of the book, it was heartbreaking to see how Addie reacted. I found this book astounding and breathtaking.
