I have read this book and though I thought the first book was okay, I am now obsessed with this series! In my opinion, the second book is the best one so far. I'm so excited that more people will get to read this beauty!

Great, Chelsea! I won't be reading this book as well because I've read it before and I love the series too! For me the first book was amazing, but I really like the third one most :D

I read the first book a year ago, and even though I loved the characters, I found the book to be really slow. It took me a while to read the second book, but once I did, I was completely enthralled! I can't wait for the fourth one!

I didn't read last month's book so I'm really looking forward to reading this one! I've already read it, but I think re-reading it will be awesome!

Yeah, this book is really famous so probably a lot of you have read this before...

I agree Lina, the book is quite slow, but I actually like that kind of book so this was perfect for me! Plus I can't wait for the fourth book too!

Great enthusiasm Rai! It's okay if you don't have much time to read, it happens to everyone. Don't push yourself, as long as you have fun reading the book. And this book is kinda slow, but it's not that long ;)

Anyway, how is everyone's progress on the book?
For those of you who have read the books, what did you think of the characters? The setting? The plot?

I just finished reading it right now,and i just.. Its soo good. Im definitely going to read the rest of the series.

Also i love all the characters which is very rare for me, but Gansey is definitely my number 1 (i might have a crush..shh). Adam probably my least fav but i still like him very much. And Ronan is bae. I love their friendship tho, i find it very cute.

Wow that's so quick Sara!! My favourite character of the gang is probably Gansey as well. He's awesome. But in the first part of the book I actually liked Adam more!

I feel very ambivalent about adam right now. Also do any of you ship any of the characters?

I've read all the books released so far and Ronan and Adam are my favourites! I didn't know Ronan that well while reading The Raven Boys, but I started loving him in The Dream Thieves!

And yes Sara, one of my book OTPs is from this series, but I probably shouldn't mention who, it might be a bit spoiler-y. Though not really since it's not canon (yet, I hope ^_^ )

Her whole family :) And Gansey's sister. But other than that, nope :( That's quite disappointing.

Omg, Chelsea I'm super curious now! I ship so many people it physically pains me; most of them are Ronan + someone. I Can't read any fanfics tho bc they have spoilers of the rest of the series. This might or may not be the reason im in such a hurry to finish these books

Ugh I totally know what you mean Sara!!!! I'm pretty sure it's gonna be canon in the next book *crosses fingers*

I think one of the book's strongest points is the relationship between the characters. What do you guys think about the writing style and the plot, though? I've heard some people think that the plot wasn't that interesting for them, and the writing was too slow.

love the characters so much, but I don't care about the quest for Glendower. I did really like the fantasy in the second book, probably because I liked the characters involved so much.

And the writing style is slow but I don't mind since it adds so much to the characters. A lot of people don't like the first half of The Raven Boys because it's slow, but that was actually my favourite part of the book.

And yeah I also think it's going to be canon in the last book ;) OTHERWISE I WILL HUNT STIEFVATER DOWN (no I wouldn't, but I'd be pissed and cry my eyes out)

I just finished the second book and oh my God, it was amazing! It was a lot better than the first because I felt we truly got to see the characters develop. (Although I'd love to read more about Noah!) I love the writing style, personally! I don't ship anyone at the moment but ahahaha I'm really curious as to what the 'it' everyone is saying is but at the same time I really don't because I don't want any spoilers!

I disagree, Chelsea, I'm super interested with the Glendower search itself! Although I do understand that it feels like Stiefvater does focus more on the characters rather than the plot itself.

And OMG Jian we will not spoil you with the "it" because it's better if you discover it yourself like I did :D You'll figure it out when you read the third book ;)
Plus you don't really have to ship anyone in the series... At first I just enjoy the friendship between the gang so much <3

And I really really love Stiefvater's writing style. It's so lyrical and I love how slow it is, unlike some people. Most people don't like the books that are too slow because they prefer Young Adult novels that are fast paced, because generally YA books are like that. Which is why lately I've been more in the mood for adult novels...

Actually, I think I might know what ship you guys are talking about! I'm around halfway through the third book and the ship is starting to grow on me! (It might potentially end up ruining my life, let's see how it goes!)
