I think the book would be more interesting in a few years when we can see if Dell has indeed succeeded in reinventing itself.

Thank you for the suggestion, Rick. Maybe in 10 years she'll release a sequel! Reinventing Dell is coming out ahead of the merger with EMC as a history of the volatile company's rise and fall up until that point, with an investigation of disruptive and recombinant innovation.

It is indeed very difficult to time tech books around big upheavals, as they come along so often -- delaying the book until the reinvention was 'complete' could mean that it's never published.
