can someone recommend a book where heroine was in hero's power as a captive or slave or employee and then got punished for trying to run away or leave

I don't know if I remember correctly but I think that happens in Fires of Winter by Johanna Lindsey.

You're right, Jenny. in Fires of Winter. The hero makes the heroine spend the night in a freezing punishment cell for runaway slaves when she runs off.

Also by Lindsey - So Speaks the Heart. The heroine runs away and he takes a belt to her.

I've never been able to put my hands on it though, so I'm not sure exactly *why* he did it.

i think touch the wind by janet daily has a scene like that , heroine was ordered by hero to get 15 lashes for trying to escape

i think there was a scene in If Not For Love the heroine tried to escape then th hero got her back ,shoved her hair and put her in a cell.
