I'm currently reading Goodbye Stranger, and I'm really enjoying it! Who do you think are the round/flat/dynamic/static characters in the book? Personally, I think that Bridge is pretty round, because she possesses so many traits. When she's with Em and Tab, she's outgoing, fun, and thoughtful. When she's with Jaime, she's more clingy. When she's with Sherm, she's witty and smart. When she talks about Patrick, she seems aloof and a bit suspicious. Because of these many traits that come out when she interacts with different people, I believe that Bridge is a round character.
I think that Em is a dynamic character because she has changed from a girl that never parts from her friends to someone a bit further away from them! (If that makes any sense)
Goodbye Stranger is about growing up: Making decisions; Living with those decisions. It is clearly about friendship and deep friendship: especially friendship between three girls. The plot, once it is fully rolling, pulls you toward the ending. The ending, from my point of view, is satisfying. It is a good read for girls and boys and teachers and parents.
