After all that, it was a huge let down. The book was a DNF and was just too OTT and too silly for words. It felt like the author had to throw everything AND the kitchen sink into the plot-line, making it almost laughable!

I do enjoy old BR & HR from pre-2k, but sometimes the plots are quite crazy!

I love pre-year 2000 crazy romances.
The WTFery/craziness is part of the charm of these old romances!

OCD = Obssessive Compulsive Disorder
OTT = Over The Top
DNF = Did Not Finish
I too prefer pre-2k HR vs current HR. I still can't bring myself to read Stormfire ... sounded quite ???!!!! ..I have no words.
However, I don't think that Passion's Slave will meet that standard, sadly. I agreed with some of the other reviews on GR ... it was very campy; induced many eye-ball rolling moments; many times I wanted to slap both the H and the h ... one was not H-material and the other was just too spirited / stubborn to live!
Read the offspring's (Ecstasy's Conquest) and grandkid's (Wild Rapture) books... they were an improvement.

As much as I like it, I stop short in most cases of reccoing it to others b/c one never knows what the sensibilities of others are.

Jiha, please send me a PM, if you would.

Anyhow... someone, somewhere told me that there as a website/company where you could mail a copy of a paperback and they would turn it into an e-book for you. The service was pretty cheap if I recall (pennies per page). Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If it is indeed that cheap, I'll take one for the team and have a decent scan made.

I think it's mostly likley this one: http://www.betterworldbooks.com/home.... as I've used it before OR you could download Abbyy Fine Reader and install it and do it yourself... just for your own private use. Up to you.

Omg! I read this book years ago! LOL!!! I've not got the copy of it, sorry :(

Thanks, I found the website I was talking about on an Amazon discussion, but I'll also check out your link. The one I was thinking of is http://www.1dollarscan.com. You mail them the book and they scan it for you and create a pdf (then they recycle the paper since they have to cut off the spine to do a good scan). Basically, it's $1 per hundred pages. I'm willing to pay $5-$6 not to have to sit and scan it myself. I don't have the time or patience.

You're welcome. Also forgot to mention another cool feature which I would have taken advantage of if I'd known about it. If you have an account with that site you can buy a paperback from Amazon and have it shipped straight to them rather than to yourself. That would certainly cut down on shipping if all you're interested in is the e-copy. I have one bookshelf and it's pathetically packed plus we recently found a giant box full of paperback in the outbuilding that never got unpacked when we moved 10 years ago, I don't need or want any more physical books.

That site I gave you, Betterworld books, gives you the option after you purchase your paperback (where you can't find any form of digital formats) to any digital format you would like (Epub, Mobi, Pdf etc) and the option to either keep the paperback or not. They will email you the digital format that you've selected, to you. This site is completely legal, legit and supported by the wider community.
However, last time I purchased from Betterworld books, was 3yrs ago and this feature of converting from paperbacks or hardcovers to digital formats was only available to the people of USA and not elsewhere, as I'm Australian. However, I was told by them, that they will be doing it on global scale, not long after my purchase of historical romance book, (which will remain unnamed) which wasn't out in digital format at the time... However, I did use Abbyy Fine Reader to convert this historical romance book, which was a paperback, to Epub for my own private use and I didn't tear up the pages doing it. I just setup the Abbyy Fine Reader to auto scan every 7 or 10 secs per 2 pages, just enough time to turn the page and lay it back down flat on the scanner, for it to auto scan again and keep going till the end of the book and Abbyy Fine Reader complies it etc... with minor editing (spelling checks and paragraphs etc...), I was able to convert it to Epub and enjoy it in my eReader on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone. And I still have the paperback :-/
I know Abbyy Fine Reader isn't for everyone. And it's not legit way of doing things. However, when you have hundreds of books still on your own shelf and most of them are not in digital formats to buy, and/or if they're are in digital formats, then each book costing anywhere from USA .90 cents to USA $18, more or less... then this could be an option for you, for your own private use. Up to you to decide.
I readily admit, I'm a real book hoarder. Both physical and digital. I buy free Kindle romance books daily (Time Travel, Historical, Paranormal, Fantasy etc..) and I'm a Kindle Unlimited member and occasionally I do buy Kindle books. You will be also surprised what gets released as a free book, if you do check daily. However, I rather have digital books over any physical book, any day, and my bookcase is already overflowing with paperbacks books as it is. I currently have over 10 972 Kindle books. Just don't ask me how many paperbacks and hardcovers I have... I've lost count! LOL!!
I'm also a member of http://www.booklending.com/ where people share their Kindle books they purchased with other people, who can't afford to buy books. Again, it's totally legal and a wonderful way of sharing your books or borrowing it from others. I've done both, on this site. This site is free to join. No ads and no annoying stuff.
Anyway, I'm waffling on. I do sincerely apologise if I impeded on anything or anything else I may have done. However, I do hope I helped somewhat.

Such a pity, since I have been waiting and waiting for Analise by Lisa Gregory to be offered for eDelivery :(

I bought mine in 2011 after someone was searching for it on the Amazon romance forum.
