Hello!! So I'm trying to get a head start on December's BOTM since we started off a little late on this month's stuff. So, obviously, December is all about Christmas but our BOTM doesn't have to strictly be about Christmas. It can be about other religious holidays, snow, cold weather, winter, whatever makes you think of bundling up with the family and enjoying the feeling of being warm and cozy! Let's get this going! Thank you!

Oooh that sounds like a good one! I've never heard of it before. I'll have to check that out. I've been eye balling The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror for a while. I hear it's pretty good and good for a few laughs as well. I think I kind of prefer more light hearted book around the holidays. It can be a stressful overwhelming time of year for me most of the time and New Years always gets me down so it's nice to have a book around to make me smile!
Some other Christmas books I've thought about are the classic A Christmas Carol and then Letters from Father Christmas which, if you read the description sounds so lovely and whimsical and very very sweet.

Iirc, I think Skipping Christmas is a more lighthearted book too. They made a movie of it, Christmas with the Cranks, but from what I heard it wasn't really like the book.

The stupidest angel sounds good too! Decisions, decisions...

Awesome! Thank you! I'll make sure to tally that with the votes. Also, I finished Welcome to Night Vale whenever you'd like to borrow it if you still want to! It was great!!

I have a lot of housework that I'm always taking care of and that's usually when I listen to podcasts. Thanks to too much housework I've listened to them all haha. But you could definitely read the book without too much prior knowledge from the podcasts. I'm pretty sure you could read the book without ever even hearing of the podcast. Most of the stuff in there that you would know about from listening to the podcast is just stuff like how the library is dangerous, all the weirdness that is Night vale. Hearing the mention of the man in the tan jacket, and a couple of people's names. But there was nothing in there that I thought 'Oh I would have no idea what was happening if I'd never listened to the podcast.'

Jenny (mentha) | 333 comments But those are also the things that are fun. I read my first pratchetts diskworld out of order and realized there were references to other books but did not know to what. I still wanna read it though.

That's completely understandable! I do hate missing references like that because it takes away from the charm of it.
