I notice I have trouble getting into a book unless I'm referencing and relating it to a thought or debate I'm having. (with myself or someone else)

I have to have my highlighter ready and theories in mind or I wander off.

I noticed a similar approach in Bruce Lee's library. Ti precision in his case. https://youtu.be/iFWeLM5h7Dg

I do audiobooks, but I tend to forget it more than I'd like and I can't easily highlight something that stands out.

I'd like to read for it's own sake, collect information for its own sake, but I'm not sure it's in me (or us)

Hmm, I'm not sure. I think I probably tend to just read books that relate to me without thinking of it consciously. But maybe it's not just an INTP thing.
